Need I say more?
The Raptors run with this before the Hawks realize how badly they're getting ripped off

take out Sheldon and Lue and you might pull it off. I think ATL figures they have 15 pt scorers and needs their 25 pt guy. Also..they invested pick #11 in a pg-so the timing is not good.

Great value for Toronto but where would JJ play the point? I mean he has "playmaking" ability but he hated playing the point in his first years with the Hawks why would he agree to that here? What would Toronto do with Lue, Johnson and Martin that would be the worst point guard rotation in the NBA.
Also the Hawks would be terrible after this deal with Calderon/Childress/Williams/Smith/Horford and no bench. They are not going to let that happen. JJ might be involved in a deal to bring Gasol in to Atlanta.

Johnson has struggled with his shot (and shot selection) this season, so I can almost understand this from their perspective. But who plays where? Is Delfino your starting SG, with Bargs coming off the bench? Not sure what Atlanta's post-trade lineup would look like.

I truly believe the Raptors say no before Atlanta. Joe Johnson fits with nothing they do on offense, has a huge contract and cannot play the point. Plus, what does Toronto need? They need someone who can play the three and they need a center. Joe Johnson fits neither need.

Tell me how Joe Johnson helps the Raptors. He is a shoot first guy who lacks defensive energy and he costs to much on a good team.

okay yeah TOR runs away this this, easy yes for us, ATL says no, blah blah blah... how many times have we heard it
but i gotta ask, is Shelden labelled a "bust" or "near-bust" or just "bad pick for that draft class at that position" or is he actually a useful role player?

I really think he is like Marcus Fizer, if you need a banger who really can't score he can do that, but I don't think he can ever be a starter or even first off the bench type of player

is this guy really a Hawks fan? That's insane.
Bargnani is a big man who doesn't do any big man things. He's an SG in a Centers' body. Terrible rebounder, slow, bad defender, but hey! He's a good 3pt shooter! Calderon is good but no way in hell does he net JJ, he will also have to be resigned after this season, you know? I'm going to assume you didn't.

Toronto needs are: good 5 or a 3. JJ solves neither

Toronto's needs are a 5, a 3, and a 2. Parker's not really a long term 2g for us. We could really use better wing play, a guy top help create, and a gaurd that can help at the end of games.

JJ can play the 3. He's like 6'8 in shoe's and he's very strong. He plays the 3 pretty often for the Hawks, and he exclusively played the 3 in PHX. Doesn't matter though because this trade is terrible.
