Sam+Mobely to Portland for Raef+Sergio.

Mobely can be the 6th man and be a lights out shooter. Sam can be the vet that could drive the Blazers to the playoffs.

Clippers get out of Mobely's deal a year earlier since Raef has a contract that expires a year earlier. Sergio could start right away at PG.

My thoughts are:

Kenny Thomas(who could actually get some burn in LAC while Elton is out)
Quincy Douby(who is a scoring combo guard off the bench type)

for

Sam Cassell
Aaron Williams

HAHA! Fat chance.

Actually, there's another angle on this.

Bibby -------> "X" Team
"X" Team -------> Package split between SAC & LAC
Cassell ------ SAC

Cassell could be good to platoon with Urdih for the rest of the season, if the combination can be made to work.

Shannon Brown (prospect)

for

Cassell

If Bibby fails for the Cavs...

I agree. I would love to see Sergio fit into the Clippers style of play.

Houston may also be a good fit. Their in need of a veteran floor leader. Francis can be involved.

SPOILER NOTICE

Just kidding but I have a prediction on Sammy.

I think the Clips will hold out as long as they can on him trying to get a first or something. In the end I think Sam might make things difficult to be traded if its not to Boston. Boston is a dream team right now and Sam knows he can further his legacy in the league by winning a title in Boston. But Cassell knows that the numbers just don't work to trade with boston. Boston has only Powe, Scal, and Pruitt that they are not using and even all of them together does not pass acording to the realgm trade checker. So I think Cassell will end up biting the bullet and taking a very low buy out from the clips and signing with boston.

when have the clippers ever bought somebody out? sam was no spring chicken when the clippers acquired him, and despite their poor history he still reported and led us to the playoffs. he's not that picky about where he plays, he'll live if he isn't traded to boston.

clippers have cap space coming, and i think they can make a move using cassell to make themselves even bigger players in next year's free agent market -

cassell, t.thomas
for
j-will, mourning's expiring deal, 2nd rd pick.

you know what ?

i think i can improve that.

offer is -

j-will + a. johnson
for
cassell and t.thomas.

clippers get a young body at pf that they can really use imo and is also expiring and take on less salary (which is not much of a consideration for fans, but allways big with the owners).

the heat still keep mourning's expiring deal for further retooling (along with r.davis' deal no doubt...).
