They lose the best player in the deal, but get some nice pieces in return. A Bynum-Bargs frontcourt gives them a more traditional frontcourt with tons of potential. They also get Barbosa, who is the playmaker/scorer they are lacking right now. As well, Brown is a $9 expiring. They have to eat Banks' contract to make the deal work but also get Critt who would make a nice backup for Ford.

Suns get too much value. Barbosa + 2 bad contracts won't net you Odom, Farmar.

Really? I think it's pretty fair in terms of value. I know it's higly unprobable, but not that outrageous. Lakers get a contender. Suns shed some contracts and get an impact player. The Raps revamp their frontcourt as well as get a go to player and some expirings.

If anything, I think Toronto should be getting a little more. How about LA's 1st round pick- or ATL's pick from PHX...or would that be too much?

If you have watched the Lakers lately, you know they would say no to this. In fact, I would bet if it was legal and all, they say no to Bosh for Bynum.

Bosh, in all his upside and skills, earns 13m. Bynum, in all his potential earns 2.1m this year and 2.8m next year. That alone is unbeatable value.

with ford up for retirement theres no way calderon is going ot be traded....unless we get kobe somehow

So let me get this straight we trade Bosh and Calderon for Bynum and Javaris Crittenton so called "potential" and 2 really long contracts in Banks and Barboasa I don't think so. Toronto wants no part of this deal.

LA takes this and runs with it before Phoenix and Toronto know how bad their getting ripped off. Kobe, Bosh, Diaw and Calderon would be a damn good team. Plus the Lakers have some quility depth no way Pheonix helps them out like this.

Barboasa is on one of the best contracts in the NBA if not the best excluding rookie contracts for his production id be glad to have his long contract here.

Barbosa is a great SG God knows he's quick as anything and can score in bunches but not at the price of Bosh and Calderon I wouldn't. I mean yeah I was a bit harsh on him (Barbosa) but Bosh is a elite big that would take Amare (straight up) coming to Toronto other then that there really isn't anything I would want on Pheonix contract wise. I mean Marion is great but is a role player not a franchise player. Toronto would welcome Marion no questions asked but not for Bosh.

As for LA Kobe is the only thing Toronto would ask for one on one for Bosh and neither team does it.

You'd have have to come up with a way to move Banks to Lakers instead, and send Toronto expiring or moveable contracts . . . Either that or send along Atl's 1st rounder.

Do one of those and I'd be down. But then again I am petrified by the possibility of being a treadmill team.

With Bosh around, you don't really need a bonafide C next to him. All you need is a vet that can rebound, defend, and finish around the rim- Rasho can do all that.

On the trade in general, it seems as though most think PHX is getting too good a deal out of this and Toronto getting the short end.

How about if Toronto also gets:

ATL's 1st round pick from PHX
and
Laker's 1st round pick

...to even things out a bit.

This deal is brutal for the Raptors and no matter how some Lakers fans want to try and slice it they run away with this deal. No centers? They'd have Rasho and even Diaw (who actually does pretty well there). Barbosa's contract is nice but not so much when you factor in Banks comes along for the ride. Calderon needs to be extended but Bynum will be extended for even more pretty soon, too. The Raptors come out with worse players and in a worse contract situation. Ouch.

The last things the Raptors need are more depth, non-elite prospects and undersized shooting guards. They've got plenty of those. They could use another star alongside Bosh, but a team without a single star and a mess of positionless players is just asking for trouble.
