LAC/MIA - Rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic

Post#1 » by LPKingsFan » Mon Jan 7, 2008 8:04 am

This is just for fun, really, but an interesting idea for two teams with nothing to lose:

Trade ID #4392532

To MIA: Sam Cassell, Corey Maggette

To LAC: Jason Williams, Ricky Davis

Both teams swap expirings to shake things up. My initial, unprofessional opinion is that the Clips get the worse end of the deal. Not sure how Miami could sweeten it up exactly, but maybe the Clips would like to make a run at Rose, Mayo, or Beasley ;)

Heat say yes, but the Clippers probably want to hold onto Maggette as long as they can.

I guess it could work...though if LA wants to resign Maggette they'll definitely pass.

Clearly Maggette has the most value in that deal, i bet the Clipp show can get a thrown in Tim Thomas added to that making it TT/Corey/Knight for Davis/Williams

its expiring contracts for expiring contracts w/ the clippers giving up the better players. swap tim thomas for cassell and maybe you have something.

Yeah, you've got the Heat passing. We can't afford to make a move like that anyway. Hopefully our game plan has changed for this year to not win now.

The Titanic?

And the NYK's aren't involved?
