Heat - Kings not a proposal but a question

Do the Heat feel that they're too far removed to still compete in the East? Would this proposal be considered a good fit and good value for both teams? Bibby has been injured and thus wouldn't have helped the Heat so far, with him returning in a week, perhaps this type of deal could move forward. Perhaps there could be a third team to facilitate the deal even more?
Kings deal:
Bibby
Thomas
Heat deal:
Williams
Haslem
Wright

probably not gonna happen. With the way the Heat is doing now, they're better off keeping the status quo and hope for a high lottery pick to land Rose or Beasley

Just wondering...Early January and in the EAST...??? They've been injury riddled. I think a shake-up could very well put them back on track similarly to how Artest revived the listless Kings 2 seasons ago to make the WC play-offs in a shorter amount of time.

Bibby's injury is a big factor. Even if the Heat aren't quite out of it yet, how long can they afford to wait for him to be 100% again?

Why would Miami ever do that trade? They could get Andre Miller for probably just Jason Williams and a 1st or trade Williams, Haslem (a starter), and Wright (a good young player) for Kenny Thomas (Garbage, why call him anything else) and Mike Bibby.

Kings would be getting too much..
1st off, to be asking for Wright in the conversation is too much, Kings arent giving up enough to warrant a young player like Wright
2nd, some people might feel that a decent PF(better than anyone in Sac) in Haslem, would be worth more than Bibby alone...
So yes, that deal doesnt go down and MIA would rather stay staus quo or go after A Miller

Wright is garbage. After his rookie deal is done can he even make a roster?

Andre Miller is a terrible fit in Miami. Most Heat fans acknowledge that.

Most MIA fans have said they would consider dealing Haslem IF Artest was coming their way, Smills should know that.

Miami has one of two options
A - scramble with trades, etc. to try to keep tbeir window open with a trade like this in the hopes that they can make the playoffs and hope for the best from there.
B - tank the season as much as possible and try to rebuild as much as possible for next season (won't be able to rebuild completely with Shaq's contract, but they'll be able to do some with J-Will's, Davis's & Zo's contracts all expiring.)

With Shaq looking worse than previously thought (perhaps even done for) and Mourning already out for the season the chances the Heat has of doing anything as far as playoffs are concerned is pretty darn remote. Even if they manage to get there, there just isn't enough in the tank to be anything more than cannon fodder for whomever they meat (likely the Celtics or the Pistons). You can add Mike Bibby and Kenny Thomas without taking anyone away from the Heat and they'd still not be good enough to bother giving up on trying for Michael Beasley and maybe dealing their expirings for big contract and another young peice for a rebuild.

With some solid teams in the East and Boston and Detroit pretty much camped at the top 2 spots as far as playoff positioning goes, the Heat would have a problem making it past either team even if Shaq and Mourning were both healthy AND you added Miller (without giving up anyone). Scrambling would be a bad idea IMHO.

Heat love Haslem to much to get a terrible deal in Thomas.

The fork has been stuck, pulled out and yep, this season is done for the Miami Heat. Shocking actually. Next up is Pat Riley's exit. As coach anyway.
Whoever takes over faces the grim reality of S O'Neal's $20M & M Blount's $7.5M per year contracts anchoring the Heat's salary cap down, down, down. They've $52M in committed salary for next season for just seven players (S O'Neal, D Wade, U Haslem, D Cook, D Wright, S Parker & M Blount).
They're only hopes for next year are either tanking in hopes of a top draft (look what happened to Boston) or trading the expiring contracts of J Williams, R Davis & A Mourning (how tough would this be?!) for veteran help.

Bibby would be a terrible move right now. He's injured, and if we're going to make that sort of acquisition, we're going to want an instant return, because that sort of trade is about the here and now. Even if he were though, I wouldn't include Haslem for Thomas. At this point, Bibby's just not worth it...

The problem the Heat face here is the exact same one as the Kings when it comes to taking it to the tank for the season - there're just a little too good. The fact is that as they get healthier through the rest of the season (just like the Kings) they will hover at that playoff/low end of the lotto level and have about a billion to one chance of getting any of those top three picks. On the other hand IF they do get healthy over the next month, and add solid vets they have the ability AND the experience to go far in the East playoffs.
the thing they really have to decide is whether or not to gamble on that or being mediocre. Tank is really not going to be in the cards pretty soon, unless they really intentionally stink it out and the league won't stand for that.

Neither the Heat nor the Kings are "too good" to be tanking the season.

Apparently a lot of Sacramento fans think that they are. And if healthy, they are pretty talented. Which is why I suggested to them that they hold a fire sale on all their veteran contracts, and make sure they suck. kingsfan10 did not take too kindly to that...

With us playing Luke Jackson, I'd say we may already be tanking. As for the trade (that KT-UD swap), never in a million years. Before we started sucking, I would've done Bibby for JWill and Dorell. But now, there's no point for us. Especially with Chris Quinn's strong play as a starter. We're better off rebuilding, because we lack chemistry.
