Post#1 » by Philly Family » Mon Jan 7, 2008 10:35 pm

Sixers send Green and Evans to Hornets
Hornets send R. Bowen(exp) Ely, Armstrong and Butler

Hornets get help on the bench with Greens scoring and rebounding from Evans

Sixers get young bigs in Hilton Armstrong and Ely, and a serviceable wing man in Butler and Expiring contract in Bowen..

Possible .....thought..nice please....

It gives Philly some extra cap space & a young back-up center on a rookie contract. I guess Butler doesn't hurt the team. I'm just not sure I'd make this deal to get an additional $2+million for next year.

Exactly! If Philly takes in Butler & Armstrong, that's a guaranteed 5.662 million. They save about 2.4 million. But they don't have any other players to trade to open up anymore space if they intend on keeping Miller. I guess they could try to re-package Armstrong in another deal. But Butler is a lost puppy. Willie Green is 20 times the player that Butler is :-) It's not a bad idea, but Philly needs more compensation, like say West :-)

Good one. Funny stuff. For a minute there I actually thought you believed the Sixers should get David West, the guy averagin 19/9. Oh, but the Sixers only have 1 guy on their team who could get someone like that from the Hornets and his initials would be AI.
