Portland also gives up its 2008 first and NYK's second rounder which will likely be the 33rd-35th pick.

Portland does it to complement Oden with Conley and have its backcourt set for the next decade whilst not messing with its team chemistry. They take back Cardinals contract but still have some flexibility in 2009.

Memphis does it to rebuild and plan towards the 2009 offseason as it takes back Raefs massive 09 expiring and Outlaw whos a budding star who also expires in 09, while picking up a young prospect in Koponen and a couple of picks, while shedding Cardinals bad contract. I am assuming Memphis also deals Gasol to start the rebuilding process. Joel Freeland can be thrown in as well if Memphis are interested.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Swapped Blake for Outlaw

What better way to start rebuilding than to trade your most recent lottery draft pick for a guy who will be stuck on the bench behind your own talented wing?

whats the point of switching Cardinal for Lafrentz? that gives Memphis a lesser incentive to do this even IF conley wasnt included

its easier if you move Oden to Memphis
