hawks probably won't resign childress this summer w/ all the big contracts they're going to have to start handing out soon. acquiring maggette makes the hawks better on paper for a playoff run this year since they're likely to lose chill this summer anyway, renting maggette makes sense for them. cassell puts them over the top for a playoff spot.

clippers acquire a glue guy in childress who would probably be their shooting guard of the future. he'll likely be cheaper to re-sign than maggette and is younger which is something the clippers are looking for.

I think this is a good trade for both teams, but it all depends on if the Clippers want to throw in the towel and remove some of their veterans at the deadline.

yeah i definitley have the clippers giving too much, i originally had maggette & dickau for childress & lue but i decided to make the deal bigger. childress will be in the price range for the clippers to sign this summer, it might be a better option for the clippers.

Where would Maggette play? JJ and Marv are pretty much set at the 2/3.
