Due to Seattle, Toronto, New York and Sacramento being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Seattle, Toronto, New York and Sacramento had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Seattle gets rid of wally's contract and gets a smaller contract in rashos and solid role players in dixon and delfino.
The Raps get a back up pg who they can trade back to the Knicks in the offseason if TJ comes back. Also they aquire wallay who is a solid upgrade over parker in the SF position and can play the 3 as well
The Knicks aquire Artest, and Petero, but do have to give up lee.
Sacromento gets some solid young players.

As for Sacramento's portion, add in a Kenny Thomas/Malik Rose swap along with a future 1st round pick and you're there.

I think the sonics would rather keep the solid role player in Wally then take a Rasho for 2 years

No, you're well past there. As I've said many times before, Lee AND Balkman AND a pick AND shedding a year off KT is just too much for Artest, and the Kings will never see an offer like that from the Knicks or any other team.

As for the trade, given Bargnani's struggles, can they really afford to trade (ugh) Rasho and get no centres back?

As I've said before also then - keep your bench filler and stop trying to offer it for Artest. Petrie's obviously not biting and neither are any of us.

It's not my bench filler. I'm a Jazz fan.

There are Kings fans who keep demanding Lee + Balkman + pick + KT salary relief for an Artest rental, and it's too much. That's all.

Wally's been playing pretty solid this season and he'll also be a huge expiring contract starting this summer, which means his trade value will then be at an all time high.

The lotto pick I will give you but taking on salary from the Kings will be a must I am sure, unless we get some great value in return.

I would much rather shave a year off of Kenny's deal than take Balkman.

As far as I'm concerned the deal is

Lee, Fred Jones (Expiring), Rose, future 1st, and small filler
for
Artest & Thomas

Now Balkman fits that cap space needed, but so does Nate Robinson and I imagine there are one or two others that might as well, Wilson Chandler maybe

Toronto wouldn't do this deal just to get Wally world who is a better version of Jason Kopono. Why would we want to pay him $25 million over the next 2 years? Nate Robinson is a terrible point guard in terms of moving the ball why would we want him on our team?
Not saying we give up great talent here but the things Toronto gets back are not worth it.

Seattle wouldn't do this deal when they have Petro, Swift, Kurt Thomas, Wilcox, Sene and Collison whom are all better bigs them Rasho. Adding in Wally for Delfino and Dixon is not something they would do.
