Thought I'd give a shot at blowing up the Pacers after that debacle in Utah, so I've got four trades here.
1st trade:
Ind sends: Tinsley, Daniels, Owens
Ind gets: Redick, Dooling, Arroyo, Garrity
Orl sends: Redick, Dooling, Arroyo, Garrity
Orl gets: Tinsley, Daniels, Owens
2nd trade:
Ind sends: O'Neal, Rush, Graham
Ind gets: Thomas, Sefolosha, Dixon, Nesterovic, Lotto protected 1st
Chi sends: Wallace, Thomas, Sefolosha
Chi gets: O'Neal, Rush, Humphries
Tor sends: Dixon, Nesterovic, Humphries, Lotto protected 1st
Tor gets: Wallace, Graham
3rd trade:
Ind sends: Murphy, Diogu, Williams
Ind gets: Scola, James, Snyder, Lotto protected 1st
Hou sends: Scola, James, Snyder, Lotto protected 1st
Hou gets: Murphy, Diogu, Williams
4th trade:
Ind sends: Foster, Diener, Harrison
Ind gets: Brown, Crittendon
LAL sends: Brown, Crittendon
LAL gets: Foster, Diener, Harrison
The New Indian Pacers Lineup:
Arroyo/Crittendon/Dooling/James
Dunleavy/Redick/Dixon/Sefolosha
Granger/Snyder/Garrity
Scola/Thomas
Brown/Nesterovic
Arroyo, Dooling, Dixon, Snyder, Garrity and Brown all expire leaving the Pacers with 38.4 million going to 9 players. Let's say that one Hou or Tor makes the playoffs, giving the Pacers an extra mid 1st round pick.
Next Year's Lineup:
Crittendon/James
HIGH PICK/Redick/Sefolosha
Granger/Dunleavy
Scola/Thomas
FA/MID PICK/Nesterovic
2 1sts (I'd hope for Gordon and Hardin), a 2nd and a couple small FA's leaves the Pacers with about 10-max to offer a FA, personally I'd try for Biedrins or Okafor at about 5/60.

Let me get this out of the way, since its in every thread that uses the word "Fire Sale":
ANTI-FIRESALE POSTER1: "You said "Fire Sale!" <Our Team> is not having a Fire Sale!
ANTI-FIRESALE POSTER 2: That's right! We're in a good position. What we have is very valuable because <insert lame explanation>, and we can afford to wait for a great offer.
POSTER FROM ANOTHER TEAM: But your team is going in the wrong direction, and its costing them a fortune!
ANTI-FIRESALE POSTER1: Our owner is rich, and money is irrelevant, so we'll only do a deal if its a great offer for us.
POSTER FROM ANOTHER TEAM: Your mama wears army boots!
ANTI-FIRESALE POSTER1: Sez you!
etc, etc.

Isn't it proper etiquette on RealGM to post in "green" when you make a joke?

Troy Murphy
- can be had for little value
- no equally or worse contracts
- he is a decent player though and just losing a year off the contract isn't a big deal if the returning player is horrible
Mike Dunleavy
- good player, just not quite worth his contract
- definitely no returning bad contracts
Jermaine O'Neal
- there is a chance he will opt out so trading him for only expirings would be pointless
- need a player with a high ceiling
- need at least a decent player right away
- picks would be nice
Jamaal Tinsley
- plays great but is inconsistent and injured too much
I think we either trade Murphy to a team in dire need of a big (Orlando) or package him with O'Neal.
But if we are trading those two, we need to get rid of Tinsley + Dunleavy as well. They are valuable players, just with big contracts, so getting NOTHING in return would really hurt our team IMO.
So we have to get some sort of value, somewhere or another.

Would the Cavs do that?
I don't know much about those contracts, but I think Marshall and Brown would be nice players for us.
If their contracts aren't terrible, I don't understand why the Cavs would do this? I imagine Z and Gooden would still start, Murphy would be a very expensive backup. I do think Murphy would play very well off of Z, but again, he wouldn't start over Gooden. Unless I'm missing something.
