CHA/MIL - Huskies reunion

Post#1 » by HotSpurs21 » Wed Jan 9, 2008 1:11 pm

Jared Dudley, Sean May, 2008 lotto protected 1st (top-8 protected in 2009, top-3 protected in 2010, unprotected thereafter)
for
Charlie Villanueva, David Noel

Milwaukee get a young defensive SF that they need in Dudley, and Sean May when healed could be a good backup PF for them down the road. They also get a 1st from Charlotte

Charlotte already have a similar player to Dudley in Gerald Wallace. Here they get more versatility and more offense up front with Charlie V. With former buddy Okafor around, Charlie V may be more motivated in a new environment. The move could also entice Okafor to stay around.

If Charlotte think they're giving up too much, Milwaukee can throw in Charlie Bell, and Charlotte will throw in Othella Harrington to balance it out. Milwaukee can dump Bell's contract, and Charlotte get some help at the backcourt.

Charlotte:
Nazr/Okafor/Hollins
Okafor/CV
GWallace/CV/JRich
JRich/Carroll
Felton/Bell/McInnis

Milwaukee:
Bogut/Voskuhl
Yi/Ruffin
Dudley/Simmons
Redd/Mason
Mo/Ivey

When did Jared Dudley transform, from a defensive liability as a pro prospect, to some lockdown defender? I never thought he was as bad as advertised at that end of the floor, but he's far from excellent.

The Bell-Harrington addition makes it fair, but CHA will decline on the grounds that they would be paying more than a minimum salary for a backup G.

I hope you don't mean this one:

Jared Dudley, Sean May, 2008 lotto protected 1st (top-8 protected in 2009, top-3 protected in 2010, unprotected thereafter)
for
Charlie Villanueva, David Noel

A lotto pick (which we'll probably keep this year...making it more than likely a top 8 pick in '09), a (disappointing) 13th pick and our 2007 22nd pick for Charlie V?

I don't think CV is worth just the lottery pick...but that might be just me.

So we get a lotto pick in two years for CV?

Move along now, not interested

And Sean May. Looking at career numbers, he scores one less FG per game and rebounds about the same in 5 fewer MPG. (Admittedly, he is out for the season...but May and a pick for Villanueva is hardly as awful as you make it out to be.)

Wait, are you actually talking about Sean May like he's an NBA player?

Sean May is worth literally nothing. Absolutely nothing. I'd rather pickup Noel Felix than even think about adding Sean May.

The dude's knees are trashed b/c he's fat and out of shape.

He will never play a full season in the NBA and will probably be out of the league within 2-3 years.

AND Dudley!!!

I'd be very curious to see what team(s) would give up a lottery pick for CV, not to mention even more value.

Thats fine. We don't need to trade him. It's not like we have to trade him right now.

Last night, he was starting to show us why we traded for him. 15pts/10rebs including some monstrous dunks.

Bucks have no problem hanging onto him.

Supposedly Herb Kohl is real keen on CV and refuses to trade him.

Then you should...esp. if a lottery pick is the asking price, because I doubt seriously that you get any takers. He's way too one dimensional for that kind of cost.

We're not looking for a lottery pick.

We're looking for a veteran or up and coming starting caliber SF like Corey Maggette or Mikael Pietrus.

Call CV inconsistent and soft. But he's not one dimensional. He can score inside the paint at will, he can hit three's, last night he threw down some crazy athletic dunks, he's a good passer and a good rebounder.

Problem is most nights he can't put it all together.

CV is not one dimensional.
