Amusing DAL/MIN

DAL GETS: choice of MIN 2nd or MIA 2nd

MIN GETS: DAL 1st

Reasoning: Dallas's is most likely offering pick 28, 29, or 30, and MIN is probably offering pick 31. At that level, its all a crapshoot anyway. However, the MIN pick is unguaranteed salary, and DAL is win-now and over the lux. Picking a guy they can stash in Europe seems to make sense.

Won't Minny be at/near the lux too? They should probably be just as concerned about that guaranteed salary. It's not like a pick that late will help them move up (assuming they don't win the lotto outright).

If the season were to end right now, we would have the #26 pick and 2.5 gsmes away from pick #21.

Right now, no deal. If in the offseason and we do end up pick 29 or 30 and Minny or Miami ends up pick 31, then yes...deal!

Wolves will be enough under the lux as long as they don't do something stupid like trade Theo for something that doesn't expire.

Even more interesting...

Dallas 2008 1st for Minny 2010 1st (top 10 protected, of course)

So, a 1st round pick, that at worst is in the mid 20's for a 2010 1st that will Hopefully be of the same area, maybe higher? I dunno, we still owe the Clips a 1st rounder im not even sure if we can legally trade another 1st. I dont like the idea of owing 2 1st round picks.

Gomes for Ager and your 1st???

Because of the amount of playing time he will get, Gomes would be more valuble to the Wolves (and many other potential trade partners) than Dallas.

I'd rather draft a 20yo and send him to the D-league for 2 years and give him playing time at age 22 than a 28yo Gomes (in 2010 when most all of Stack, Hassell, Ager, Jones and George will be gone).

ReyShawn Terry, our draft pick with similar strengths to Gomes, would easily make the roster on many teams in this league, but we sent him to Europe to retain his rights because we had no room for him. The way he is playing, we may replace George with him next year.
