New York
IN: CV, Bobby Simmons, Dikembe Mutombo, Shane Battier,
OUT: Zach Randolph, Wilson Chandler, Fred Jones

Houston
IN: Zach Randolph, Michael Redd, Dan Gadzuric, Fred Jones, Wilson Chandler
OUT: Tracy McGrady, Chuck Hayes, Dikembe Mutombo, Steve Francis, Shane Battier, Kirk Snyder, 08 1st Round Draft pick (lottery protected)

Milwaukee
IN: Tracy McGrady, Chuck Hayes, Steve Francis, Kirk Snyder
OUT: Michael Redd, Dan Gadzuric, Bobby Simmons, CV

New York gets out of Zach Randolph's contract and gets some good chemistry guys, the first step in a new Knick team. Houston obviously takes the most talent in the deal and gets two good scores in Redd and Randolph and a decent (if not expensive) rebounder and bench guy in Gadzuric. Chandler just helps them get some swing minutes. Milwaukee gets to dump two contract and take back McGrady, who is an upgrade over Michael Redd and Hayes is a good energy guy who could play the 4 and move Yi to the three where he has the speed to play in this league. The reason this pick is protected is if the moves help Houston get into the playoffs, New York gets a pick. If the moves don't the pick is still Houston's and is lottery protected throughout the years.

Redd gonna play more games, plus this might be the last chance you can trade TMac and get a star in return.

God, keep those two away from the Rockets. They're both overpaid stiffs. Neither plays any D worth mentioning, neither is a good ballhandler/creator for others, and neither does anything but score. (Well, Randolph rebounds fairly well, but his game is almost identical (but worse) than Yao's).

Plus they both have really bad contracts. Redd's is workable, Randolph's isnt. Houston wouldn't even consider this.

Houston should be getting 1st rounders not giving away them if anything.
And I have stated many times Houston DON'T want Randolph!!!

Wow, I took another look. Milwaukee absolutely cleans up, at Houston's expense. The pick is just the lubrication before getting boned.

I have a lot of trouble believing that Milwaukee could get anywhere close to that package for what they're giving up. McGrady + spare parts for Redd + CV + two ATROCIOUS contracts?

Soooo.....Rockets give up the best player in the deal AND a pick.....yeah, that makes loads of sense.

Oh, AND they take on the two worst contracts in the deal as well.....SUPER!

I'm sure that you could manage to make this worse for the Rockets, but you'll have to really try. We give up McGrady, Battier (why do people continue to undervalue him?), and a pick, along with completely screwing Mutumbo who resigned with us on good faith.

Rockets would most likely say "no" I'm thinking.
