Seattle SuperSonics

Incoming Players

Von Wafer
Salary: $770,610 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 1.1 REB: 0.4 AST: 0.3 PER: -0.82

Steven Hunter
Salary: $3,638,600 Years Remaining: 3
PTS: 0.8 REB: 1.3 AST: 0.0 PER: 3.04

Chucky Atkins
Salary: $3,000,000 Years Remaining: 3
PTS: 4.0 REB: 1.1 AST: 1.9 PER: 2.65

Outgoing Players: Earl Watson
Denver Nuggets

Incoming Players

Earl Watson
Salary: $5,800,000 Years Remaining: 3
PTS: 8.3 REB: 2.7 AST: 6.1 PER: 11.91

Outgoing Players: Von Wafer, Steven Hunter, Chucky Atkins

Why for Denver
: Chucky is out, possibly for the season, and Hunter has been hurt. This saves them money over the next two seasons and gives them a good defensive, pass first minded PG.

For Seattle: Seattle is going for cap space after next season, and thats when chucky comes off the books. This will give them extra money to make a huge splash in free agency. Although Hunter has been hurt all season, he would be a rotation player at the 4/5 for Seattle and Wafer gives them a solid prospect. This also opens up PT for Delonte at the 1

I think he addressed that.

 ...perhaps a lemming like panic?

Clearly serves no purpose except to help the competition.

The Cap space idea is bogus as Atkins + Hunter are not expiring, yet Watson is pretty tradeable if all they want is a dump. Wafer? Since when is he really a prospect? I doubt there's a roster spot for him.

Atkins expires with Wally, which is when the Sonics are entering the FA market.

And Wafer proved this summer and last year that he is as much as a prospect as a guy like Morris Almond (who is older than Von).

And Watson doesnt have much value. He shoots a low percentage, has a big contract and less than impressive numbers. At the most he is worth expirings.....is this as good as expirings? depends on how you value hunter and wafer. But its close. And its not like the division rivalry makes any difference, because Watson will be long gone by the time the Sonics contend.

Wrong, Atkins has 2 more years after this season, while Wally has only 1 left.

So were talking about having Watson or Atkins + Hunter till 2010(all 3 will expire then) on our team and i'd rather have Watson then.

Yeah, right.
The Sonics could just look around the D-League and find guys like Wafer. There's no reason to add this guy, especially with Durant, Wally, Wilkins, Gelabale and West being able to play his positon.

1) Expirings is actually what we're looking for in return for Watson.

2) No, it is not as good as expirings, cause it's not about Watson being able to provide something to our team that the Sonics have problems with, it's just the length of his contract.

The Sonics easily decline that one.
