Big Trade - IND/SEA/SAC/NYK

Post#1 » by coolweed » Fri Jan 11, 2008 6:49 pm

Indiana

Out: O'Neal, Daniels and Harrison
In: Thomas, Szczerbiak, Lee and Morris

Indiana gets expiring, serviceable big man in Thomas, perimeter bench play from Szczerbiak, up and coming replacement for Foster in Lee and cut/buyout/expiring contract in Morris.

Seattle

Out: Szczerbiak, Thomas and Wilcox
In: O'Neal, Curry and Jones

Seattle gets solid unproven tandem in O'Neal and Curry (both of which would like to have new scenery) and would compliment Durant quite well. Serviceable backup and expiring contract of Jones.

Sacramento

Out: Artest
In: Daniels and Harrison

Sacramento loses the head case which is Artest along with his possible opt out at the end of the year. Get back a serviceable 6th man, who can play some point, in Daniels and a cheap expiring contract in Harrison.

New York

Out: Curry, Jones, Lee and Morris
In: Wilcox and Artest

Knicks get Artest's lock down defense coming with head case, but may fit in well with Isiah since they have crossed paths before. Curry wants out and Lee has had some rumblings of scenery change. Wilcox can come in and work well with Randolph since he isn't looking to be the main man and has stated is best in the pick and roll.

This comes out of seeing all four teams not really having an honest chance at the playoffs without some major roster change. this might help their future franchise in either veteran leadership for rookie players or change of scenery requests.

In any event, looking for honest, non hater responses.

Sacramento's rejected much better offers than this pathetic effort.

I doubt that's an acceptable package for Artest AT ALL. Don't care for it much for Indy either, frankly.

Disgusting for the Kings.

1) They already have MULTIPLE better players at all positions that Daniels can play
2) Daniels contract runs at least 1 more year after this 1
3) Harrison, at the best, is a backup center

Terrible for the Pacers. They are going to trade to rebuild. They get worst and no future players(Lee isn't much use with Diogu on roster).

Overall it's pretty unbalanced.

Bad for Indiana
Bad for Sacramento
Ridiculously good for Seattle

value wise it's fair enough for the Knicks, but you leave us too short in the center dept. After this trade our big men would include Zach, Wilcox, Malik & Jerome (who may never play again). Either we keep Morris or Seattle needs to throw us one of their scrub centers just to fill in should we need some size).

but outside of that glitch, this trade is too flawed for Indy, Sac & Seattle.
Bill Clinton slept with an intern. A consenting adult and he got impeached and nearly disbarred as a result. Donald Trump went to parties showcasing underaged women brought in as basically prostitutes, and he says it's nothing.

Double standard?
