Wizards/Bulls/Grizzles BLOCKBUSTER... Gasol to Chicago

Post#1 » by WizardsWorld » Sat Jan 12, 2008 5:21 am

This has a lot of players involved but if it can be worked out helps all teams involved...

Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Chicago and Washington being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Chicago and Washington had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Wizards:
C: Wallace/Blatche
PF: Jamison/Smith/Songalia
SF: Butler/Warrick/DMac
SG: Young/Mason
PG: Arenas/Duhon
*** We get a better center although expensive but dump a bunch of our contracts. Also get 3 VERY solid bench guys in Smith(insurance if Jamison leaves), Warrick and Duhon.

Bulls:
C: Haywood/Gray/Thomas
PF: Gasol/Noah/Cardinal
SF: Deng/Nocioni
SG: Stevenson/Thabo
PG: Hinrich/Stoudamire
*** Bulls get their man in Gasol here and dump Big Ben's deal. Whole new Bulls look here anchored by the Gasol/Deng star combo.

Grizzles:
C: Darko/Swift
PF: T.Thomas/OPec
SF: Gay/Miller/Jacobson
SG: Gordon/Navarro
PG: Conley/Daniels/Lowry
*** Grizzles rebuild here getting Gordon/T.Thomas/OPec as well as their 1st rounder back from the Wiz. Also get to dump Cardinal and Damon with Gasol.

The Bulls essentially get Gasol plus a few bad contracts for Tyrus and Gordon, plus a monster bad contract.

Its too big to work in reality.

I hate to blast a fellow Wiz fan, but that is a truly horrible trade for the Zards. You're hurting them at center - where Haywood is playing great for a much much much better contract than Big Ben. Haywood is better, bigger, younger, cheaper. And you're killing them in the backcourt - where Stevenson and Daniels are starting and doing better. They could use depth at the 3, but adding Warrick isn't the answer there, and trading Pech is short-sighted.

An unbelievably bad trade for the Wizards. The players are worse, the chemistry is worse, and the contracts are worse.
