Iggy&Dally/ For Amare????

Post#1 » by NewBeginings » Sat Jan 12, 2008 7:34 am

PhillyTrades- Iggy, Dalembert, Calvin Booth, 09' Utah 1st
PhillyGets- Amare, Brian Skinner(exp), Sean Marks(exp,waived), 08' Atl 1st

SunsTrade- Amare, Brian Skinner, Sean Marks, Atl 08' 1st
Suns Get- Iggy, Dalembert, 09' Utah 1st

Why for Sixers?
Imo it is much easier to build your franchise around bigs than it is smalls, having said that, after Sixers make this trade this season is pretty much is a wash, especially if we manage to get expirings for A.Miller packaged with Green and or Evans. The purpoese of this trade is to be ready to compete for next year and years there after. The Sixers would go into this off season with a building block of Amare, Thad, Lou, Jason Smith, two sure fire first round picks (i really have no faith that the Hawks will maintain), and being we wont have to re- sign Iggy, enough capspace to go after two bigname free agents. As for the remainder of the 08' season some may argue that this trades leaves us without a center, which would be true, however Brian Skinner would be a decent stop gap center until the season is over, and that is were the fun would begin.
Sixers 09' Roster
Calderon/Lou Will
Mayo/Carney
J.Smoove/Thad
Amare/Jason Smith
Diop/Deandre Jordan
One can only dream :droop: DAMN!!

Why for Suns?
I think this could be a trade that puts the Suns over the hump. The Suns add a do it all youngster with Iggy whos game I believe would thirve to a completely different level in the Suns system. Not only would he provide additional perimeter defense to a team that could use it, he also has the capabilities of getting others involved, is a great ball handler, not a tremendous shooter of the long range variety, but has a very solid mid range game and can slash with the best of them, and in the open court he is simply one of the best as far as decision making with the ball and finishing and he is only 23. Dalembert is emerging as a defensive and rebounding beast who is only 26, who could also provide 12-15 points consistently and maybe even more in the Suns system. I believe he would fit in perfectly with his athletisism, speed, and defensive prowess. With this trade the Suns become better defensively instantly, add deph, and still have the capability of putting up 110 plus.
Suns Staring 5
Nash
Raja
Iggy
Marion
Dally

I really think this is a pretty fair trade value wise, though im sure some will disagree :D
All comments welcome. :D

*LOCK* Amare is one of the 5 most untouchable players in the league... he's not going anywhere...

Dalembert is in great shape, the problem somtimes though is his lack of bball IQ. He has taken great strides this year though and IMO would fit in great as well.

Phoenix would have absolutely no reason to do this. They'd rather trade Marion than Amare, and if they were to move Amare they could get better value than this.

Not a snowball's chance in hell Phoenix does this. Amare is going to be the cornerstone of their franchise after Nash retires.

Now, if you wanted to talk about a Marion/Iggy swap then I'm sure they'd listen. But not for Amare.

Its not just Iggy though. Its Iggy and Dalembert.
And no way do the Suns get Iggy and Dally for Marion.
A marion package would be something like Carney/Dally/Utah pick
for Marion Atl pick.

I know, and Dalembart in no way makes up for the difference between Iggy and Amare. Amare is a franchise big man, Iggy seems like he'd be best as someone's Scottie Pippen, i.e. not a franchise player. Daly isn't the caliber of player to make up that difference.

And no way do the Suns get Iggy and Dally for Marion.

Never said they would, but Iggy is closer in value to a Marion than an Amare IMO.

A marion package would be something like Carney/Dally/Utah pick

:o

Considering the ATL pick will almost certainly be significantly higher than the Utah pick, you're saying Dalembart/Carney > Marion. WTF???

I you factor in contracts yes. Marion has the right to opt out this year and is 3 yrs older than Dalembert. While the Suns would have Amare 25yrs and Dally 26yrs for the next 5-8 yrs. Amare at the 4 and Dally at the 5 would do wonders for the Suns.

I can tell you won't be convinced to take your blinders off, but to everyone else who follows basketball Marion is clearly a better player than Dalembart. Yes he has an opt out and yes he is older but he's also a multiple time All-Star, which Dalembart will never even sniff.

Sixers get bent over.

Amare is nothing without Nash, Marion, and the Suns system.

If we trade Iggy it would be o get a nice big man to pair with Daly, like a Gasol type player.

Daly is not a throw in. He just had a 20/20 game last night and is getting betterand better.

Then on top of Philly getting screwed, we throw in a free first rounder
Thats fair.

14-23.. no direction.. no franchise player and nothing but minimal value outside of Igoudala. Getting Amare would be a huge step in turning around your franchise, but of course Phoenix would never do this deal.

The Suns wouldn't touch this. Iggy would be great and everything in the Suns system, but they can't start him over Bell or else their defense takes a huge hit, and they are down in size enough that it would hurt them to start him at sf.

Dally would be good next to Amare, but in place of him, giving the Suns no frontcourt offense, destroys any chance they would have had at a title.

No doubt Marion is a better player, but the reason why the Atl pick is essential is the fact that he can opt out of his contract leaving the Sixers with nothing, and giving the Suns a beast of a front court.

Lol the suns would never do this. Take away the ATL pick and have the sixers throw in Thad Young and you might have a decent proposal.

The Suns wouldn't and didn't give up Amare even to get Kevin Garnett.
