Pacers trade:

Danny Granger
Ike Diogu
Jeff Foster
Marquis Daniels
Andre Owens
2009 1st Round Pick UNPROTECTED

for

Pau Gasol
Juan Carlos Navarro
Dorrell Wright
Alonzo Mourning

Why: We get another all star to play with JO in the paint.

Jamaal Tinsley | J.C Navarro | Travis Diener
Mike Dunleavy | Kareen Rush
Shawne Williams | Dorrell Wright
Pau Gasol | Troy Murphy
Jermaine O'Neal | David Harrison

--------------------

Grizzlies trade:

Pau Gasol
JC Navarro
Damon Stoudamire

for

Ike Diogu
Daequan Cook
Marquis Daniels
Jeff Foster
Andre Owens
2009 1st Round pick UNPROTECTED from Pacers
2008 2nd Round pick from Miami Heat

Why: Diogu is a very nice prospect. He just need some time to develop and improve his skills. Cook is a very good Shooting Guard, with great 3 point shooting, and he's a little clutch too, I really like him. Marquis Daniels and Foster are veteran guys to teach something to the young guys and theirs contracts aren't very large, too.

And there is the pick of Pacers, that is unprotected, is 2009, because we can't trade our 1st round pick in this 08 draft. Maybe they get lucky and get a nice pick.

Mike Conley | Kyle Lowry
Mike Miller | Marquis Daniels | Daequan Cook
Rudy Gay | Mike Miller
Ike Diogu | Hakin Warrick
Darko Milicic | Jeff Foster | Stromile Swift

--------------------------------------------------------

Heat trade:

Daequan Cook
Dorrel Wright
Alonzo Mourning
2008 2nd Round Pick

for

Danny Granger
Damon Stoudamire

Why: Cook is a very good player but he'll be always a Wade's backup in Miami. Heat get a great young player in Granger, who has a lot of potential.

Jason Williams | Damon Stoudamire | Chris Quinn
Dwyane Wade | Luke Jackson
Danny Granger | Ricky Davis
Udonis Haslen | Alexander Johnson
Shaquille O'Neal | Mark Blount | Earl Barron

__________

I tried to make a simple version of this trade with Granger going to Memphis, and without Miami Heat. But they already have Rudy Gay, so maybe they wouldn't want Danny Granger.

I'd do this, but you either have to buyout Zo or replace him with Smush.

Heat are not getting Granger for that... This is not a good deal at all for Memphis... lots of better stuff out there in a Gasol deal

Terrible for Memphis. Indy does way to well here.

How is that bad for Memphis? They get 2 good young players in Diogu and Cook. They get one of the best bench players in the league in Daniels, and a work-o-holic in Foster. Plus a first round pick? I think they get too much.

I'd pass as a Pacers fan. Just doesn't really help us out at all. We lose depth, our player of the future, and a very promising player, just for another post player? In an offense that doesn't run as many post plays? I mean, I'm assuming our offense would change if this happened. We move back to a post team? Now Jamaal sucks again, and we have to get touches to both Gasol and O'Neal, who in a post system would both want a lot of touches. Now what happens to Dunleavy? He doesn't fit in our offense any longer, at least he wouldn't be getting as many touches. Shawne Williams would be a 5th option on offense, that would hurt his ego, maybe stint his growth. Then our bench just loses a lot of talent in Foster, Diogu, and Daniels. Plus a 1st?

Terrible trade for the Pacers in my opinion, I guess other fans will have different ones. This just doesn't make sense to me though. I'm not saying we are getting screwed on talent or whatever, I'm saying it throws off our chemistry, our style of offense, we'd be going to the post all the time like we used to, trying to split the touches between 2 players. What happens to the rest of our team? Doesn't make sense to me at all.
