IMO Zaza and Lue are NOT worth a 2008 1st.

Phx usually gives firsts away just to avoid the cost.
Let's see what they respond. Good teams don't value late firsts very much as they are usually at or over the cap. They'd rather keep their talent than develop young guaranteed players.

This is Orlando, not the cost conscious Suns.
ORL currently has ALOT of owed salary, I doubt they not welcome a young rookie to groom who will be cheap, since hes a late pick.

As a Hawksfan, I'm already in the trade firsts away for talent mode. Even our near future picks will be in the twenties and not very valuable to us.
Talent is much more important.

I'd look to trade our picks in more trades (Chil, Marvin, Shelden, exps, picks).
Can't be afraid to trade. Just have to trade well.

Trading your first for Zaza isnt trading well if you ask me.

As of right now, Atlanta would have the 15th pick in the draft. Outside the lottery, the picks are ordered opposite of winning percentage, so even if Atl was the 5th seed in the East they'd still be about the 18th pick because all of the west playoff teams would probably have a better record.

So basically Orlando swaps expiring contracts & gives up a 1st for the right to take Zaza off of your hands. Shouldn't the 1st be going in the other direction?

tb-- you need to wake up about the value of Hawks players. Zaza has played terribly this season, he isn't worth close to a first round pick. Lue is nothing more than an expiring contract. Not only that but you give the Hawks the best player in the trade. This just isn't anywhere close to a fair trade.

The first is excessive, and we don't want Lue...

I'll take Zaza for Arroyo, but no dice on the 1st.

I don't think Atlanta and Orlando are trading partners this year because of how close that division is. I am all for divisional trades, but if you trade in season, to a division rival that could mean the difference between the third seed and sixth, you have to wonder.

Yes, it's good to trade away late 1st round picks for talent, but Zaza and Lue isn't much talent...
