Can't see Miami doing this with the kind of frontcourt rotation we'd be left with. Who starts at power forward for us?

We like Kapono. A lot. But we can't give up UD for Kapono. What would we do after this trade, start Kapono at PF? The 1st is nice though, and definitely helps to balance the trade. If we somehow get the #1 pick in the draft and want to select Beasley, then call us before the draft and this could be more plausible if we see someone around 15 that we want to pick up.

I like this for both teams. UD solidifies the Raps frontcourt with his toughness/rebounding. Kapono gives Miami their sharpshooter back, and the 1st is really what gives Miami the incentive to pull the trigger.
But as mentioned, they'd have no PF. What about including Humphries for AJ+Smush? I think that would even out the first half of the deal too, for Miami fans that still thinks it's a bit one sided.

It really really depends on where our 1st is. Because we need to have someone at PF. If we get Beasley, then this does make some sense. But there's not really another PF prospect out there. So we couldn't do this unless we were assured of getting Beasley (i.e. after the season or possibly on draft day). Mainly because, our rebounding has been worse than the Raptors. Trading UD for Kapono would make us one of the worst rebounding teams ever, leaving us with Dorell+Shaq as the only players likely to wind up with 10+ rebounds.

That would help. But again, this would be predicated on getting Beasley IMO.

We wouldn't give up Dorell for Graham and Humpries. I'd much rather send you Ricky Davis for Kapono straight up.

Not a bad deal, but don't let the Raptors board see it. They think Kapono is the god of shooting.

Thinking long-term, Haslem is probably the second most valuable Heat player (outsider's perspective). He's such a good complementary player regardless of the team's philosophy going forward.

I don't like this trade at all. Kapono ain't worth the money he's getting plus I like Haslem better than Kapono anyway. I'd rather have a guy that does the dirty work than a guy who just shoots 3 ptrs.

I'd say Cook has more value for the long run, but it's true that Haslem is up there too.

No.
You want to trade us Calderon? Then we can talk. He's the only piece I'd be interested in dealing Cook and Haslem for...

Well that's just pathetically terrible for Miami.
Haslem>>>Kapono. Cook>>>Dixon and Humphries>>>>>Anthony. Think it evens out?

MIA let Kapono go, just move on already.
I'm not dissing Haslem, I like the guy. I just think that it's weird to let another team sign a guy to trade him back to your team.

Miami is not going to trade Haslem for Kapono. Haslem can play whatever system a team has. Kapono

Why would the Heat move their best defender for Kopono? That makes no sense Kopono is a good shooter nothing more.
This is a steal for Toronto as they get a guy who is among the best low post defenders in the league I say maybe top 3. Miami would have to start Kopono at the PF or worse somebody else they don't have enough big bodies unless they want to move Williams for peanuts.
Maybe something like Davis for Kopono could help Toronto or Kopono and Garbojasa for Jason Williams.
