LAL/CLE/ATL

A little while ago I proposed a deal between the Lakers and Cavs:

Odom for Gooden/Marshall/'08 First (Lottery Protected)

Now I was wondering about turning this into a three team deal with ATL

ATL Gets: Kwame/Crittenton/Marshall/'08 First from Cavs (Lottery Protected)/'08 First from Lakers (Unprotcted)
ATL Gives: J. Johnson/Claxton

Lakers Get: Gooden/J. Johnson/Claxton
Lakers Give: Odom/Kwame/Crittenton/'08 First (Unprotected)

Cavs Get: Odom
Cavs Give: Gooden/Marshall/'08 First (Lottery Protected)

So for the Hawks it would be basically JJ for Kwame's expiring and 3 first round picks with one of them being Crittenton, who would be coming home to Atlanta. Then, they would swap Claxton who is worthless for Marshall, who isn't doing much either, but he would provide veteran leadership to a young team and his contract is smaller per year and one year shorter than Speedy's.

I know it looks like the Lakers get a really good deal, but they take on Speedy's horrible contract and give up a lot. Odom/Kwame/3 first round picks.

Odom gives the Cavs and LeBron some more help with his versatility. LeBron already creates matchup problems, now add in Odom, who will create even more mtchup problems.

Of course, this would never happen unless:

1. Bynum ends up being alright for the Lakers and the Lakers pick up another center somewhere else.

2. ATL would only consider this if they fall out of contention, and want to save money to resign the Joshes and possibly another top free agent.

Thoughts?

Great for the Cavs, disgusting otherwise.

I think the team with the best deal is LAL.

And once again, the Lakers get another team's star (Joe Johnson) AND Drew Gooden, on the cheap.

Hmm, you can get an all-star SG in his prime for an expiring contract?

On a side note, why is LAL's pick unprotected and the Cavs protected?

Please stop trying to get JJ from Atlanta for Kwame Brown and late firsts. It is not going to work.

I didn't even see JJ to Lakers... Hawks would laugh at this.

And I don't know what Cavs fans are complaining about... they would get a nice compliment to LeBron for Gooden and a protected 1st...

We take this deal for sure, but the Lakers side of the deal is ridiculously good for them.
