Miller said when his contract is up he will sign in Indy for the minimum. I would love to do a Murphy/Miller deal now, but giving up Diogu is way to much for a player we could get for free in a year or two anyway.

C'mon, he said he will sign for the minimum but I'm sure he is being a bit sarcastic. Plus, will Indy still want him when his contract is up? [/quote]

Maybe, but its still not worth losing Diogu over, give me a break.

What would you propose?

I don't really have anything. I've worked on this a lot before, Miller is one of my favorite players in the NBA and I'd love him back on the Pacers, but the teams talents are too different. Given up a big role player with Murphy would be too much for Indy and if its like Murphy/Owens, its too little for Sac. Doubt something like this would happen.

Murphy is in there to give Cleveland depth at the power spot. Maybe Foster and salary filler instead?

Kings decline... This is just an expansion to the same ol' Bibby to Cavs deal but you added Miller and Ike...

Pacers priority is getting rid of Murphy, why would we give up more on a deal we already said no too. The Pacers can't have Murphy, Miller, O'Neal all at the same time. Too much money into the same position.

kingsfan 10: kings rid themselves of miller and get a good, but unkown prospect in diogu.
DgrangeRx33, yeah wasnt sure who Indy values more, I see your point.

Why are we getting rid of Miller in this manner? Look at him this season, he is having his BEST season since his All Star days... Miller garnish more value than this...He is not terrible contract, he is living up to his contract to an extent....

His offensive numbers are good, agreed. But Kings have an offensive center seeing no PT on the bench in Hawes, who according to most has a more advanced offensive game than Miller. Trade Brad, get back Diogu and Gooden who both can defend and rebound and give Hawes playing time...my thoughts at least.

Regardless, you just cant dump a good center just to give Hawes PT. (He is 19 years old) He needs time to get used to the game...
Gooden and Ike are not the PFs we want to build around...This is stated MANY times by Kings fans and I....

Kings dont need a PF to build around. They need a PF to complement their scorers IMO by providing capable scoring, solid D and rebounding. I think adding Gooden and Ike do this. I would take them over SAR, KT, and Moore.

Again, (probably you werent here when we have trade rumors between Kings/Cavs) The whole (or majority of it) Kings fan base decided that Gooden just doesnt fit to our PF scheme... Besides we do NOT need any scoring we need defense....Gooden or Ike doesnt provide that...

Wasn't that in a different offense under Muss? Ike and Gooden would do a better job at PF under Reggie's current scheme than the aforementioned. I understand, if this was the old Adelman pick and pop, high post scheme it doesnt work, but Kings have a new defense, where speed is a necessity and a new offense where the wings control the ball.

Right now we use a variation of the Princeton Offense. The slashers/cutters creates offense opportunity and etc... Under Muss, we just played isolations and such...
Trust me, Gooden just doesnt fit. We dont need any more scoring. We need a defensive PF/C. Gooden or Ike doesnt provides that...

So, given the Kings assets, Bibby, Miller, Artest what defensive PF/C with athleticism is avail to the Kings?
Or do the Kings use Salmons, Garcia, Martin as bait?
