Are you just reposting this from the Magic board as a joke?

If not, IBTL.

Just what the Knicks need. Another ultra expensive player who can't defend. Its not the Knicks fault the Magic paid Lewis as if he was a player equal to Garnett. Let the Magic keep him.

lol he even took out balkman and added in chandler on the knicks side...even though the knicks wouldn't do the deal without chandler added.

Seconded. Obviously they feel they can do much better for Marbury. It's not like Knicks fans thought Frye was worth more than JO 2 years ago...oh wait. Nevermind.

Hell yea.Is Rashard's defense good enough to keep a one legged man from driving past him for an easy lay up? Hell no. Is he a first option on any team not playing in the NBDL? No. And yet he is averaging money as if he was one of the top 5 players in the league. So of course us Knick should feel honored for just being offered the chance at having a player as overpaid as Rashard on this team.

 @ Magic fans for their team giving a 2nd option Kevin Garnett money. We thought the dynamic double JJ duo were the epitomy of crappy contracts but then you Orlando guys went an errected that towering turd of a deal. Rashard Lewis is the exact reason I am happy the Knicks won't have any cap room any time soon. We won't make the same mistake the Magic made.

1) You have already made this mistake about 20 times on far worse players. It is laughable to think of the Knicks not being first to make any mistake.

2) Rashard is earning his money at a rate only David Lee can match on the Knicks. Sadly for you guys, he would be your 2nd best contract.

3) Shard sure is dragging the Magic down...right into a home playoffs series. But, hey...it's not like Jerome James won't get his wish of watching it on TV with 200 chicken wings in front of him.

1. You're wrong. We've overpaid far worse players but those players came at the MLE. Rashard is far more expensive than those mistakes. Oh wait we did overpay for Allan Houston. But on the other hand he did help us get to the finals and as a shooting guard he's supposed to stay out on the perimeter. Lewis is 6'10 and stays out there waaaaaaaaay too much for my liking.

2. How on earth do you figure that? He's not averaging more than 20 points per game. That's barely in the top 40 in the entire league. He's only averaging 5 rebounds a game. That's good for barely top 80 in the league. By contrast Zach Randolph is averaging almost 17 points a game and 10 rebounds while making less than Lewis. But somehow Randolph has absolutely no trade value around here.

3. Jerome James will only cost the knicks 18 million dollars more. Rashard Lewis will cost the Magic over 100 million. The Knicks could afford to fill the arena at MSG to the brim with chicken wings for James but still have money left over.

Are you really that dumb? You won't make that same mistake we made? YOU MAKE IT EVERY TIME YOU SIGN A PLAYER!

How is Jerome James' MLE going these days?

At least we sign players who actually fulfill a purpose. Tell me, when did the Knicks last make the playoffs with $tarbury? With James? With Crawford?

And when at any point in this season has your team (all overpaid players) been better than the Magic (one overpaid player)?

If you can actually tell me that you REALLY believe that Marbury > Lewis at this point, then I will declare my love for the Pistons.

P.S.: I hate the Pistons, so...

1. Allen Houston, Stephon Marbury, Eddy Curry, QRich, Jamal Crawford, Zach Randolph. All players you vastly overpaid at a number higher than the mid-level exception.

2. Zach Randolph is a loser who drags his teams down by putting up hollow stats by shooting far too many shots. Shard would coast over 20ppg. if he were like Zach. Thankfully, he would rather let Hedo and Dwight do there thing in a win than shoot 30 times in a loss. Zach should try that.

3. Dolan obviously has the money and the desire to piss it away to make this happen. It would probably be less painful than watching the Knicks as well.

No. We never gave a 6'10 perimeter player max money. We've made mistakes b4. We've made way more mistakes than I can count. BUT THAT IS ONE MISTAKE WE HAVE NEVER MADE.

MagicFan3 wrote:-= How is Jerome James' MLE going these days?

Its going pretty well considering its so small that it doesn't really affect our cap figure at all one way or the other.
MagicFan3 wrote:-=

A role player with a contract worth well over 100 million. You really got me there.

That changes the fact that Rashard Lewis has a horrible contract how?

Who said Marbury was a better player than Lewis at this point? I know I never said that. But Marbury is as good as gone after next season. Meanwhile you'll still have 4 years and 85 million dollars left on Lewis' deal. I know which contract I would prefer.

None of these guys affect your cap number because it's so high it rivals the national debt. That doesn't make the bad signings better, it makes them worse.

Oh dear I love your logic.

I'm not saying Lewis's contract is not bad. I am saying that the Knicks have done MUCH worse several times. At least Lewis is a talented player.

As to him being a "role player", what exactly is your definition of a role player? Lewis is our main option on the perimeter and a permanent starter.

1. We never signed Randolph, Marbury or Q-Rich. As for Curry and Crawford, sure they didn't turn into the types of players we wanted them to become but they make about as much in one year combined as Rashard Lewis who is definately not the type of player I would want him to be. And Houston led us to the finals.

2. Ahhhh, so you paid a guy a max contract to be the 3rd scoring option on your team. I thought he was your second. Whoops.

3.Actually it would be much more painful.

Lewis is vastly better than anyone on the Knicks. Period. The Knicks have the highest payroll in the league and among the worst records. End of discussion.

Can you read? I didn't say you signed those guys. I said you are overpaying them. Your saying you would rather have QRich and Curry than Shard? If so you might be the next Knicks GM.

Indeed, the Knicks are over the cap by about as much money as the Sixers' roster costs, combined.
