No thanks from the Blazers. With the subtraction of Frye I would do it for sure. The pick would probably have to go. Frye is finally fitting in on our team and is 2nd in rebounding behind Przybilla. Taurean Green could be had though.

Why would we want Taurean Green when a PG is already in this trade? The Magic prolly do this deal, but not without Frye.

You take out Frye, and we'll just go ahead and keep JJ.

Would Portland do this? It takes out Frye. Portland already has 15 players under contract next year, so Fernandez coming over appears to be a question mark for them.

Taking out Frye and replacing him with Rudy definitely doesn't make things more palatable for Portland. The Blazers scouts and GM are wild about Rudy, no way they'd trade him this soon.

How about simplifying matters.... You guys keep JJ and your pick, we'll keep Frye (and Rudy), and we just make this an easy swap:

There is not enough incentive here for the Magic to take back Miles ugly contract and but up against the luxary tax. We would need more than just Jack. That is not to say that the Magic wouldn't do something for Jack without Miles.

Portland won't be interested in adding much more incentive to just get out of Miles contract. The Blazers would probably be willing to add in some cash incentives and some 2nd round picks. As far as prospects go, I'd be willing to part with Joel Freeland or Petteri Koponen in a deal like this, but I don't know if Blazers management would agree. I do know that Fernandez is completely off-limits though.

I figured he may be. The problem is that the Magic have value in those expirings, so packaging them and taking on a nasty contract only to land Jack is a tough sell. If the Magic are in love with Freeland or Koppenen, which is entirely possible, then something could prolly be worked out, but I can't really see this trade unless we had no other options. SG and PF are more our need.

Actually, Miles says he's healthy enough to play right now. Word out of the practices is that he's (obviously) looked a little rusty, but he is back to playing shape.

I don't blame ya.

The thing about it is that a lot of people (including Blazer fans) really don't give Jack nearly enough credit for the important role he plays with the Blazers. While Roy and Jones are the Blazers leaders in terms of keeping the team cool and collected, Jack is arguably Portland biggest emotional leader. So while Jack might no be in Portland longterm plans, he certainly is in their plans for right now, and he's a big part. That's why I don't expect Portland to really offer more than just him to move Miles' contract, even if they arguably should.

We like Frye. We like Jack. We REALLY like Rudy Fernandez.

For the Blazers, J.Jack is the perfect combo guard. He's 6-4, he can shoot play D on both guard spots, and he can get into the lane.

Frye's outside shooting is an asset to us off of the bench and will be even more valuable once GO returns.

Rudy Fernandez ISN'T being moved.

Orlando's 08 pick is likely in the mid 20s and following previous year's suit, we could probably just buy the Sun's pick a few spots later for 3mil.

That's IF we wan't a pick.

With Green and McRoberts from this class and Kopponen, Fernandez, and Freeland overseas right now, plus 3 more 2nd rounders this year, a pick isn't really in the cards for PDX.

if there was ANY way we can land Outlaw and Jack let mek know ASAP. Turk and JJ? You get a quailty starter in Hedo who can play the three or the four. And a sharpshooter in JJ. Yes you would be giving up two important players, but both are bench players. Hedo coming in as the 6th man would be very very good for you IMO. JJ well I think JJ would fit good with a system alot like yours, suns, or warriors. Hell Ill even take on Miles contract.

I just can't understand how Darius Miles can be included in any realistic deal right now.

The moment he's taken off the Inactive List, he's fair game.

And that could occur by March.

Well, you may be right about some Orlando fans, but certainly not all .

Turkoglu has been notoriously inconsistent since he's been in Orlando, and right now he happens to be at his highest value yet.

Add that to the fact that two of our three best players play the same position (Rashard & Hedo), and I certainly think that certainly opens up the possibility of dealing him.

Basically, and I'm not referring specifically to this deal, if Orlando could land a high quality point guard or power forward in return, they'd have to at least strongly consider.

What Hedo's done so far this season has been great, but I'm personally not drinking the Kool-Aid just yet, and if Hedo's inconsistent past is any indication -- I shouldn't be.
