Minnesota Timberwolves

Incoming Players

Randolph Morris
Salary: $810,000 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 5.0 REB: 0.0 AST: 0.0 PER: 45.91

Dwyane Wade
Salary: $13,041,250 Years Remaining: 3
PTS: 24.5 REB: 4.2 AST: 6.9 PER: 22.91

Udonis Haslem
Salary: $6,050,000 Years Remaining: 3
PTS: 12.7 REB: 9.2 AST: 1.4 PER: 13.24

Fred Jones
Salary: $3,300,000 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 5.9 REB: 2.3 AST: 2.3 PER: 10.68

Outgoing Players: Greg Buckner, Al Jefferson, Randy Foye, Theo Ratliff, Antoine Walker

The Wolves reverse direction and go from rebuilding to contending. Adding Wade at the cost of 2 young stars seems a fair tradeoff.

New York Knicks

Incoming Players

Greg Buckner
Salary: $3,750,746 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 4.7 REB: 2.3 AST: 1.5 PER: 7.44

Antoine Walker
Salary: $8,329,640 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 8.9 REB: 3.7 AST: 1.0 PER: 12.44

Shaquille O'Neal
Salary: $20,000,000 Years Remaining: 3
PTS: 14.0 REB: 7.8 AST: 1.3 PER: 18.36

Outgoing Players: Randolph Morris, Stephon Marbury, Fred Jones

The Knicks bring in Shaq, if anything, it gives them a superstar and "name" to attract and appease fans. They also dump Marbury and get 2 deals that expire next year (the same as stephon did).

Miami Heat

Incoming Players

Al Jefferson
Salary: $2,480,885 Years Remaining: 6
PTS: 20.2 REB: 11.8 AST: 1.3 PER: 22.01

Randy Foye
Salary: $2,631,840 Years Remaining: 2

Theo Ratliff
Salary: $11,666,666 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 8.2 REB: 4.5 AST: 0.8 PER: 13.77

Stephon Marbury
Salary: $19,012,500 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 13.9 REB: 2.5 AST: 4.7 PER: 14.57

Outgoing Players: Dwyane Wade (BYC), Udonis Haslem, Shaquille O'Neal

The Heat decide to rebuild. Shaq just isn't getting it done and his deal doesn't help things. Losing Wade is huge, but they get 2 young studs in Foye and Jefferson and a TON of cap savings with Ratliff's expiring deal and Marbury's next year.

I don't really think Minnesota is looking to contend right now...they did trade away KG less than half a season ago.

And as good as DWade is...he alone does not make a contender. Frankly, I'm not sure Minny would be a contender if they added DWade for nothing to their current roster.

This might be the worst trade I have ever seen. Who is going to contend with Wade? Jaric? Brewer? Telfair? :o

Wade will become quite Marbury esque in 3-5 years (book it)

that being said, this is an odd trade.

Mini - Al Jeff & Foye for Wade & Haslim (other players are throw ins) - I guess it's fair enough talent wise, but it doesn't really put Mini into the win column. Wade's health is also a question for a team that would still be in rebuild mode after this deal.

The Knicks get Shaq and Filler for Marbury and Filler - y'know what. I'd do that deal in half a heartbeat. Not sure what NY would do with a frontline of Shaq/Curry/Zach AND Lee, but, I'd still do that deal. Where do I sign.

The heat get Al Jeff & Foye for Shaq, Haslim & Wade.

I appreciate the rebuild Idea for Miami, but the truth is, I think Miami could maybe compete next year - shaq isn't as finished as everyone says and Wade hasn't turned into Marbury yet.

but if the heat did rebould - Shaq has value, Wade has value, Haslim has a bit of value, they could probably do better than Al Jeff & FOye for those 3 guys.

- - -

bottom line:

Bad for Mini, they get older

Bad for Miami, they don't get enough

and,yeah - I love it for NY.

(look, it's hard to make a trade, - don't feel bad), and this isn't the worst I've ever seen - it was a good effort. But it's unrealistic and on top of that, bad for 2 of the 3 teams.

but any trade where the Knicks turn Marbury into Shaq is one I'd sign up for.

My team has more wins than your team, and your team has Wade. LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL.

build around wade. That's the funniest thing I've heard all month.

I'm just teasing b-ball. I like making fun of wade.

Wade couldn't be had for anything or anyone on the T-Wolves...It would take every piece of talent you have plus this years 1st rounder...

I still don't think thats enough though...

It's like a word association test. When I saw "MN" and "contend" I immediately thought "shagadelic45" and "This will suck." I was right.

^ Hey, its not a Wolves fan proposing this trade. Minny is just find rebuilding around Al Jeff. Its not like Wade would make them instant contenders either.

Forget about Wade, not even adding Bynum himself could help Minny contend this year.

QFT. Not for their entire franchise. We're not trading Wade for anything short of absurd.

You would trade him for their entire franchise because then you would still have him....
