I can't seem to get the salaries to match up correctly because of Martins PPP but i think a trade like this could benifit both teams.
Martin
for
Bellinelli
Wright
081st
this gets the warriors a major young talent and helps them make a bigger push in the playoffs. This trade could also help the kings because we would now have the type of PF that we need next to Hawes and they could both develop togeather Bellinelli would be a decent replacement in the future for Martin and the pick adds a little extra value for the kings.
I'm not a big fan of trading Martin but Smills has got me thinking about it and this is the type of trade that I would be willing to look into.

Well, you shouldn't, isn't he about to get PAID?
We'll worry about that next year but for now, you can keep Martin and we'll keep Ellis fair enough? Maybe next year we can talk perhaps.

Martin's extenstion doesn't even kick in until next year--when you'll have to pay Monta anyway.
Regardless they aren't even that similar of players. The only reason that they're constantly compared is that they are both draft steals and both play in Northern California.
But yeah, the Kings probably pass until Wright proves himself a little.

Maybe because Martin is a much better player than Ellis?turk3d wrote:Why do we want Martin when we already have Ellis (at a much lower price I might add)?
Anyway, GS gave up more value, considering Wright was a lotto pick, was traded for Richardson. But I dont like it for Sac either. Both Wright/Belinelli havent showned much and are too unproven talent. Martin has already proved himself to worthy of his contract.

Maybe we don't think so and that's why we don't do it.

Both teams pass.
Martin is a great young player, and I'd love to have him in GS, but we already have a lot of talent at the 2 (Ellis, Azubuike, Belinelli, etc.) and really only 1 young big man (Biedrins) outside of Wright. If the deal were centered around Ellis+ for Martin, then I'd be all over it, but then there's really no point for Sacramento.
As is, Sacto loses out on a potential franchise SG for some unknowns - not something I think they want to do at this point.

I dunno,
I think if Petrie/Maloofs completely committed to rebuilding, they could do something like this, if they feel that Wright is legit and has the ability in becoming a future Allstar/MVP type of a PF.
Reason being why i can see Petrie trading Martin, is Petrie's ability to draft wing players. Peja, Hedo, Gerald, Martin, Garcia, Douby all of whom have proved they are all good/great players. And Petrie's ability to sign wing players that no one previously wanted but are still amazingly productive, Salmons, Jimmy Jackson, House, Mo Evans, etc.
I hate the trade from a fan's pov, but could see it from a team pov
