Portland: Martell Webster and Joel Przybilla for Al Harrington and Troy Hudson (cut)

Clears space for the 2009 free agency (giving them $15-18 million to spend) while adding a player that would fit well in Harrington. Note: can someone clarify Harrington's salary situation for me? I did this trade on ESPN which lists his salary as lasting 2 years, but Hoopsype says 3. If it is three, this trade doesn't work.

Blake/Rodriguez/Green
Roy/Jack
Harrington/Jones
Aldridge/Outlaw/Miles
Frye/Laftrentz/Mcroberts

Memphis: JC Navarro and Pau Gasol for Andris Biedrins, Martell Webster, Brendan Wright and Patrick O'bryant

Grizzlies make this move for the future creating a young team with some very nice pieces.

Lowry/Stoudamire/Conley
Miller/Webster
Gay/Warrick
Milicic/Wright/Cardinal
Biedrins/Swift/O'bryant

Golden State: Al Harrington, Troy Hudson, Brendan Wright and Andris Biedrins for Pau Gasol, JC Navarro and Joel Przybilla

Warriors create a solid, win-now core. Giving up Biedrins is painful but adding Przybilla nets a similar, if less talented player who likely will cost them less in the long run as Andris will command more money than Joel's MLE salary.

Davis/Ellis
Azubuike/Navarro/Belinelli
Jackson/Pietrus
Gasol/Barnes
Przybilla/Croshere/Perovic

I don't see the W's giving up both Harrington, Wright and Biedrins if they have to pay Przybilla to play 10 minutes a night behind Gasol. Gasol doesn't play PF for the Warriors, he would be exclusively a C. As little as the Warriors utilized traditional line ups, having a versitile PF like Harrington is a must for the Warriors.

Blazers aren't trading the Priz for pretty much anything right now..He is way to valuable to us and gives us the toughness inside to get in the playoffs and make some noise when we get there..Maybe he'll be expendable next year when we get Oden back but I still doubt he changes scenery in the next 3-4 years......

The Warriors say no. This is way too much for us to give up. Golden State has no need for Joel Pryzbilla. Plus, Memphis and Golden State can easily cut out Portland and do a deal themselves.

Warriors hang up the phone on both of you. Why don't you guys just do a deal with each other?

Does Memphis seriously think they'll get more than Biedrins, Wright, and Webster for Gasol?

That's an entire young frontcourt full of quality guys.

P.S. Warriors decline EASILY. We wouldn't give up Biedrins for Gasol.

Fine, even then...

Biedrins/Darko
Wright/Warrick
Gay/Webster
Miller/?
Conley/Lowry

That doesn't look good if you're looking to deal Gasol?

I know very little about what Brandan Wright can do in the league so I can't say.

Biedrins does us no good without another interior defender.

Gasol shred the Warriors apart on the inside the other night scoring 43 points.

Why would we...the team with the dominant scorer, want to become the team that gives up 43 to Gasol by trading for Biedrins who got 43 scored on him the other night?

Unless Brandan Wright is projected to be an Al Horford, Shawn Marion type frontcourt defender, then this doesn't make sense for Memphis.
