If the Wizards were to trade Gil, this would be acceptable

Memphis trades:
Lowry
Gasol
Navarro

Washington trades:
Arenas
Young
Songaila
Memphis 1st round pick returned
2007 1st round pick

Risky for the Grizz, but they will have the bird rights to resign Gilbert to his extension.

The Wiz demand Roy from Portland for Arenas, but they'd be willing to accept this stinker from the Grizz?? :-?

Why would any team be stupid enough to trade for Arenas when he can just run away from them in the offseason?

Who's he going to run to? At most, there'll be 2 teams with significant cap room - Philly & Atlanta. Philly says they're keeping Andre Miller, and Atlanta's owners can't make a decision without threatening to sue each other.

Include an Etan/Stevenson for Mike Miller Swap(Not sure if that works salary wise) and I'm down.

I'd add a 2nd as well.

^If thats a bit much, I guess I could downgrade the Mike Miller to Stromile Swift, but than I'd lean towards a 1st being removed.

Personally, I'd rather the Wiz trade Arenas, Young, and the Wiz 2008 pick to Memphis for Conley, Miller, and their 2008 pick - no restrictions.

Philly would gladly dump Miller for Arenas.

Plus, it was Arenas who said any team wanting to trade for him now is stupid for that very reason.

What stinks about it? I'd rather have Gasol than Roy. Lowry is a good prospect.

Considering how much extra the Wizards give up in this deal, it seems like a pretty crappy deal for them.

Plus, I find Gasol to be horribly overrated, but that's just me.

I still haven't seen any clarification...can Navarro even be traded back to Washington? They traded his rights (he wasn't under contract), so I'm not sure if the same prohibition about re-acquiring players applies to him.

Points taken. There is some risk, but I think if Memphis keeps Gasol, Arenas would be much more inclined to stay there and take the extra money - rather than go to Philly - where they have very limited front court talent.
