I had this huge long reason as to why and why not for each team, but my internet cut out and lost here, so I'm just going to post the deal. Read everything, including bottom before posting please.

2009 First Round Pick Top 10 Protected(Pacers)


Grizzles Trade:

Hakim Warrick
Juan Carlos Navarro
Mike Conely
Brian Cardinal

2008 First Round Pick Top 10 Protected

Grizzles Recieve:

Pacers Trade:

Why for Bulls? They get screwed initially, but the have a core of O'Neal/Deng/Hinrich with great role players and 2 first round picks the next 2 drafts.

Why for Grizzles? Instead of trading Gasol to rebuild they build around him and give him fire power. They lose 2 of their young guards, but still have Lowry, Staud, and Gordon(who can run point). They keep Gasol, Miller, and Gay. This would give them the weapons for a playoff push. Plus dump Cardinals contract.

Why for the Pacers? They rebuild. They lose the best player in the trade, a young talented player, and pick up another bad contract. But we get Thomas and Conely to go with Granger and Diogu for a great future team. We keep our first rounder this year, pick up that 1 last piece for the puzzle and start competing again.

Now, I know this trades not perfect. It was actually kind of thrown together at a boring moment. I do see positives for all teams and negatives for all teams. I'm not saying this is a great deal for any team, I just kind of threw it together to see what ya'll thought. Any opinions?

No more boredom trades for you mister. They get JO and two future firsts (forget that they are protected)?

Then you have us giving up our starting PG that we just drafted and our pick (regardless of protection)?

Your right, 2 future firsts are too much looking back on the deal. I think that the Pacers should get theirs back before the Grizzles though.

JO currently doesn't have the value that your getting I Know the pacers take on a bad contract but they get back more value than they deserve with the way Oneal has played.

The protection on the pick essential means that next Chicago is going to get two 09 picks.

Chicago gets way too much for what they give send Memphis back their pick.

I like the idea behind what your trying to accomplish I just don't think this deal really works well.

The Pacers are also giving Shawne Williams though. Keep that in mind.

I know it has some kinks in it, but I think a trade like this could be worked out somehow.

JO and Williams for Thomas and Conely is essentially the deal. Thats why if any team would take back a first I think it should be the Pacers. JO is still dominate, it just doesn't show in a running offense.

As of right now, Hinrich and O'Neal are mediocre overpaid players who are in their late 20's. Why would Chicago want to build around that? As someone pointed out, that top 10 protection kills the value of those picks. You might be dealing with 2009 picks in the 16-22 range.

Its a really bad concept for Chicago. Its a rebuild trade where the team gets older and more expensive.

Again, JO is still dominate, it just doesn't show in our offense.

But you did have some good points. Oh well, just a thought.

There is nothing to work out from the Grizz perspective. The two people that they are not going to trade: Conley and Gay.

And you might as well add the 2008 pick to that list - especially with the outstanding WAS interest in it.
