Knicks playing well, no trade. Come back when they suck again and we'll talk.

Chandler has shown some brief flashes but with all the SF'ish players the Knicks have the chances of Chandler getting any playing time barring a trade (where the Knicks can trim down their roster) are not good.
Chandler is a strong, athletic leaper with really nice springs (he can get up there in a hurry and go at it like a pogo stick). He has a pair of the most powerful legs in the NBA (his calves are the size Arnold's biceps) which allows him to hold his ground on defense. Not much in the way of refined basketball skills though he has shown the ability to hit the 15-18 foot jumper. He is able to put the ball on the floor and take a few dribbles but isn't what anyone would call a ballhandler. When he does though, he has the quickness and the hops to take it to the basket and, with his physical strength, take a hit and still put the ball in the basket. Not the type of athletic freak like Tyrus Thomas but up there and he's physically a lot stronger and built than Thomas.

I can't say I'm extremely interested, nor am I completely interested in this trade if I'm the Lakers.
When motivated Zach Randolph puts up monster numbers and there's no better guy than Phil Jackson for that. He rebounds and scores like Carlos Boozer. On D when motivated he plays solid man to man D (New York Knick fans never saw this

The question is what do the Lakers do with Lamar Odom after this?

Actually many fans were kinda surprised when Zach started off the season and was actually playing very aggressively on defense. Some of us were almost ready for some serious woodage.

But Randolph's intensity on defense has tailed off some as the season has gone along likely due to him being less than pleased about not playing as many minutes as he might be wanting to or used to (for a stretch of games a while back).
Still, I have to say that it's often not for lack of trying (his defense). He does seem to try but without much in the way of hops (I dont think anyone recall the last time Zach actually dunked a ball) it's a case of the body just not being quite enough to be considered a good defender. He also tends to get distracted relatively easily if he doesn't get a call and fails to hustle back on defense which often leads to easy baskets for the opposing team.
