From a talent standpoint its good for Chicago, but it doesn't make sense from a salary standpoint or from player position standpoint.

And I can't see why Orlando would want this.

Yeah I don't see what this does for Orlando. I really doubt Thomas would be able to step in and start for Orlando so that would leave the with what, starting Dooling or Mo Evans?

I would think they want to see if there's a team out there that would take their 1st along with JJ Reddick (who may still have some good value) and perhaps Doolings expiring contract for a serious upgrade at the 6th man position.

With a lot of money invested long term on this team even if that 6th man has a hefty-ish salary if he can be a big upgrade on the court, it really does make sense IMHO.

He'd be able to start. Take a look at games where he actually gets PT. He almost always responds. The Howard-Thomas front-court would be ridiculous.

That being said this is a terrible trade idea.

This would give the Bulls:

Deng/Noce/Hedo at the SF position

and

Gordon/Sefolosaha/Redick at the two.

Orlando passes. Thomas isn't a starter quality player yet, and this still wouldn't address our SG issue, or even PG for that matter. Duhon isn't a starter either.

Let's say you are right. The Bulls just gave Nocioni a big contract, is it really a good idea to make a trade bury him on the bench?

Regardless of who is 2nd or 3rd, it doesn't make any sense.

Honestly though with the way Turkoglu is playing and considering that he is the more complete player I don't see replacing Turkoglu with Thomas in their starting lineup doing anything for them right now. If that's not what Orlando is concerned about (and I think it is) then it would make sense. But if Orlando is trying to win now, Turkoglu really does make more sense.
