Magic aquires a 6th man (that's not Jared Jefferies)

This is a simple deal that should help both teams.

Magic gets Tim Thomas and Dan Dickau

Clippers gets JJ Redick and Keyon Dooling

The Magic aquires a much need 6th man that can play the 3 and 4 positions. Turk and Lewis is playing over-extended minutes and it's very important that they get a guy that can take a little pressure off both of them. If they don't aquire a 6th man they will risk having Turk and Lewis breakdown when it really counts and the earlier season success will be all for not. Of course Dan Dickau will be a nice third string point guard for the team.

The Clippers can start to get ready for the return of Brand and free up valuable minutes for rookie Al Thornton. By aquiring Dooling it allows the team to move Cassel and stick Dooling at the back up point guard position. As for Redick his value is extremely low with the Magic, and is a low risk high reward player for the Clippers.

Thomas is a decent sixth man, but his strengths are Turkoglu and Lewis' strengths, and his weaknesses are their weaknesses. If it were me, I'd want a more complementary player if I'm taking on that salary.
