This started on the GD board but I am trying to figure out what numbers work here.... tell me what needs to be tweaked.

Detroit Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: +9.3 ppg, +2.0 rpg, and -0.9 apg.

Incoming Players
Eric Piatkowski
6-6 SG / SF from Nebraska
2.2 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 0.6 apg in 8.2 minutes
Amare Stoudemire
6-10 PF from Cypress Creek (HS)
22.5 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 1.3 apg in 31.7 minutes

Outgoing Players
Walter Herrmann
6-10 PF from Argentina (Foreign)
2.7 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 0.9 apg in 8.4 minutes
Rasheed Wallace
6-11 PF / C from North Carolina
12.7 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.5 minutes
+Detroit's own 2008 1st round draft pick

Detroit trades away their center and best post defender, but brings in a young stud. It costs them a 1st rounder.

Phoenix Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: -9.3 ppg, -2.0 rpg, and +0.9 apg.

Incoming Players
Walter Herrmann
6-10 PF from Argentina (Foreign)
2.7 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 0.9 apg in 8.4 minutes
Rasheed Wallace
6-11 PF / C from North Carolina
12.7 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.5 minutes
+Detroit's own 2008 1st round draft pick

Outgoing Players
Eric Piatkowski
6-6 SG / SF from Nebraska
2.2 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 0.6 apg in 8.2 minutes
Amare Stoudemire
6-10 PF from Cypress Creek (HS)
22.5 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 1.3 apg in 31.7 minutes

Phoenix adds a post defender to put on Duncan, gets rid of Piatkowski and brings in a high energy big in Herrmann who can shoot. Not too mention, they add a 1st rounder to play with.

Phoenix:(I'm not sure of the Suns rotation so please forgive me)
S. Nash/M. Banks
R. Bell/L. Barbosa/D. Strawberry
G. Hill/A. Tucker/W. Herrmann
S. Marion/B. Diaw/W. Herrmann
R. Wallace/B. Diaw/B. Skinner

Detroit:
C. Billups/R. Stuckey/L. Hunter
R. Hamilton/A. Afflalo
T. Prince/J. Hayes
A. McDyess/J. Maxiell/A. Johnson
A. Stoudemire/P. Brezec

How awful is this? What needs to be tweaked to make it more balanced?

Dont think tweaking is gonna do it.

I could see the Suns being able to use Rasheed, but the plausablilty ends there.

Amare is too steep a price to pay for a Sheed based package, and its not really that close.

I don't see Phoenix willing to give up Amare for any big man other than D12, who is untouchable in Orlando.

Yeah as much as I would love Amare on the Pistons, this is nothing more then a wet dream.

And to be honest, I don't think we would be better with Amare as opposed to Sheed, just based on Sheeds wide range of skills and chemistry.

this deal gets more and more ridiculous the more and more i see it.

i dont even feel like going into why the suns laugh at this. there are so many reasons this is not even close to fair.

Dont think Detroit gets better through this trade is much as I love Amare, I feel like he is a system player.

Also, no way Phoenix does this, lets not forget what they watned for Marion during the offseason (Rip, Tay, #15 and #27) I can only imagine what they would want for Amare but Im thinking it would be something along the lines of Sheed, Rodney Stuckey, Amir Johnson, Detroits 08 First with us probably taking back Banks contract and thats definately a price Detroit will not pay.

That's pretty much true, especially since they (reportedly) weren't willing to include him in a possible KG deal.

This deal is incredibly unfair to the Suns.

You are trying to trade a 33 year old power forward, whose best days are behind him, for a young stud? So to make up the difference between the two players, you include a late first rounder? You got to be kidding me...

You shot down my other trade. Which was essentially Tay+Max for Gasol!
Now you post this trade.... I can see what your idea of fairness to the pistons is now; If you dont totally rape the other team in detroits favor, the deal isnt worth doing.
