To Philadelphia: Rasho Nesterovic, Joey Graham, $1 million Cash, 1st Round Pick

To Toronto: Samuel Dalembert

This trade works under NBA Salary cap rules.

The Sixers want to move Dalembert because he's under contract for 4 more years and they want to have cap room at the end of next year to go after potential FA Elton Brand. Rasho's player option (which he will pick up for next year) ends at the end of next year so they will have about $10 million freed up. Also, Sixers get a decent prospect on Graham and he'll actually get a chance to play instead of just sitting on the bench in Toronto.

The Raptors get what they really need, an inside presence who can rebound and block shots. Plus, Dalembert just became a Canadian Citizen so I think he'll like playing in Toronto.

You would have to switch Graham out for Baragani, and the 2nd out for the first, cause the sixers are getting RIPPED OFF. Not only that, but the way you describe it, the sixers don't even get expirings? What's wrong with you? not only this but Dalembert is absouloutely a monster center right now. This is a really bad trade.

I think you have some misconceptions about the Sixers. They do not particularly want to move Dalembert...and it only clears capspace for Brand if they get expirings. Since Nesterovic has another expensive year, that's not a great idea even if the value were fair.

Also, the Sixers have plenty of young wingmen already (Iguodala, Green, Thad Young)...since Graham simply isn't that good, I suspect he'd get even LESS floortime in Philly.

This trade just looks a lot better for TO than Philly.

The Sixers are getting an expiring contract in Rasho's by end of next year. Otherwise they on the hook for Dalemberts contract for four more years. And I'll agree with you that the 2nd should be changed to a 1st round pick.

And only reason I bring up the Dalembert trade is because I just read Chris Sheridans latest column about high priced players being moved. So even though they Sixers may not want to move him for sure, they are obviously listening to offers.

As I understand it, Stefanski's listening to anyone and everyone who wants to talk, but he's on the record, several times, in several interviews, saying that he's been very pleased with Sammy, and that he's been living up to his contract. He's also called him a building block of the team. We'd need an offer that blows us away, rather than one that... no, that's not polite. I won't go there.

The Sixers want to clear money, but all we really are looking to trade is Reggie Evans, Willie Green, and Andre Miller (possibly. Ed's also been very flattering regarding Miller's play, and has said he wants to keep him too.) Giving up one of the better defensive centers in the league would require legitimate talent coming back, and not a single thing in this offer qualifies as legitimate talent. (Hell, I'm not even sure Bargnani qualifies as that at the moment, since he hasn't come anywhere near his potential yet.)

The proposal was worth a shot, of course, but I believe you've badly missed the mark when it comes to reading the Sixers' needs and Dally's talent.

right on, Daly's play this year has risen his stock dramatically, although his contract is still gigantic, he's justfying it with his stellar post defence and rebounding, I think the Raptors would be nuts to try and trade for Dalembert while his value has peaked

That's what I wrote as well. And the reason the Sixers want to clear cap room by end of next year is because they want to have money to sign the likes of Elton Brand after he becomes a FA.
