Why for Orlando: Finishing touch to Orlando makes them a legit contender in the East. Okafor is the dirty work PF the Magic need.

Why for Charlotte: Charlotte keeps from having to overpay to keep Okafor. They add a solid piece in Turk and a solid prospect in Redick. Arroyo is an expiring contract and Vazquez a decent big when he comes over. Most importantly they add two 1st round picks.

oh no. Bobcats need real-deal big man prospects in return for Okafor, and Magic just don't have any besides the untouchable

Two very late 1st round picks. The second I read the thread title I thought that if this is for Okafor it's NEVER going to happen.

No one will trade a real big man prospect for him though. He hasn't shown improvement and willbe overpaid if he stays. Few teams will give up a promising big for a big that isn't improving and is about to be up for a contract. If Darko and Curry and Dalembert are any guage, Okafor is about to get a big pay raise. Once this happens he is even less tradable. The Magic do this because he would be the finishing touch and we can go over the cap to re-sign him since we lack cap space anyways.

Charlotte can pass if they chose, but it isn't as cut and dry as Okafor will be traded for great prospects. Who wants him for great prospects?

I don't think it's all THAT bad...I love Okafor, but his upcoming FA does devalue him a little (I think he is more attractive to other teams than Cammo suggests, though).

My problems are (1) Charlotte was so desperate for big man depth that they traded expirings for Nazr...now you take not only their best big, but their second best (Nazr again) as well, and return only Vazquez who will show up who-knows-when, if ever. That's not going to fly.

(2) Turkoglu is playing well, but what's his value to Charlotte? They already have Gerald Wallace and J-Rich on the wing, and the (so far inferior, but much cheaper) Morrison set to come back next year.

The value's not quite right, but the fit is very bad. Bobcats say no.

Turk could play the 4 if Charlotte plays uptempo. The Magic don't want Nazr, he was in as part of the salary. He could easily be cut out.

I don't think there is anything on Orlando's roster besides Dwight and Jameer that the Bobcats would want, so its not a good trading partner.

Doing this trade leaves the Bobcats with two rookies at the 4/5, and only 3 4/5's on the roster, the other one being injured all the time.

No.

Damn, if Okafor is this cheap...Kings will nab him in a heartbeat....

BTW Bobcats declines....

You want Jameer? He can be added in.

The Bobcats have to have legit big or bigs coming back the other way. I would take the Bulls offer of Noah/Tyrus Thomas over this one. Also, isn't Turkoglu having a horrible stretch of games? Redick never plays, Arroyo is probably the worst PG in the NBA getting minutes and Fran will likely stay overseas forever.

No, Turk had a couple average games. He had 16 and 5 last night. Arroyo is an expiring contract, Redick would play for Charlotte most likely. Fran says he will likely be in the NBA next year.
