Indiana trades:
Jermaine O'Neal
Troy Murphy
Danny Granger
Indiana receives:
Michael Redd
Charlie Villanueva
Jordan Farmar
Bobby Simmons
Lakers trade:
Lamar Odom
Jordan Farmar
Kwame Brown
Lakers receive:
Troy Murphy
Jermaine O'Neal
Milwaukee trades:
Michael Redd
Bobby Simmons
Charlie Villanueva
Milwaukee receives:
Danny Granger
Kwame Brown
Lamar Odom
Why for Indiana:
I know its hard to move big for small, but Jermaine seems hobbled right now. I think Michael Redd would be even better then he already is in JOB's system and would complement Mike Dunleavy very well. We also get 2 young promising players in Jordan Farmar and Charlie Villanueva. Supposedly we almost moved Jermaine in a deal for Villanueva 3 years ago, and Larry Bird has said he thinks highly of Villanueva. Jordan Farmar is developing well also. I know it would be hard to move Danny also, but if you think of the trade as Jermaine for Michael Redd, and Danny for Charlie V and Jordan Farmar we get pretty good returns. We also swap Murphy's contract for Bobby Simmons.
Why for the Lakers:
They get Jermaine without having to give up Bynum (which they obviously won't do now). Troy Murphy gives them a better version of Radmonovic and makes Laker fans forget about trading the great Brian Cook.
Why for the Bucks:
Milwaukee downgrades their best player to Lamar Odom, but I think they make out great in this deal. A frontcourt of Granger/Yi/Bogut is extremely promising, and they are able to unload Bobby Simmons bad contract without having to really take one back in return.
