Dallas Mavericks

Incoming Players
Vladimir Radmanovic
Salary: $5,632,200 Years Remaining: 4

Lamar Odom
Salary: $13,248,596 Years Remaining: 2

Chris Mihm
Salary: $2,500,000 Years Remaining: 1
Obtained with a trade exception

Outgoing Players: DeSagana Diop, Devean George, Eddie Jones, Keith Van Horn (s+t), 09 1st rounder

Depth Chart
PG- Harris / Terry
SG- Howard / Terry / Stackhouse
SF- Odom / Howard / Stackhouse
PF- Nowitski / Odom / Bass
C- Dampier / Nowitski / Bass
Random spot up shooter- Radmanovic

Summary: Don't know if this would be the best trade for the Mavs, but it definitely is one way for Dallas to push themselves to the top of the Western conference.

Los Angeles Lakers

Incoming Players
DeSagana Diop
Salary: $2,146,000 Years Remaining: 1

Devean George
Salary: $2,369,111 Years Remaining: 1

Kurt Thomas
Salary: $8,091,188 Years Remaining: 1

Eddie Jones
Salary: $1,830,000 Years Remaining: 1

Keith Van Horn
Salary: $8,700,000 Years Remaining: 1 + 1 (fake team option year)

2009 1st rounder (Dallas)

Outgoing Players: Vladimir Radmanovic, Sasha Vujacic, Lamar Odom, Chris Mihm

Depth Chart
PG- Fisher / Farmar / Critt
SG- Bryant / Critt / Jones
SF- Walton / Ariza / George
PF- Thomas / Turiaf / Brown
C- Bynum / Diop / Brown

The Lakers accomplish a few things all at once. They give themselves cap room for a max deal offer in the off season, they solve their depth issues in the post while Bynum is out, and they also pick up a future draft pick. The downside is that they clearly help Dallas become a much better team.

Seattle SuperSonics

Incoming Players
Sasha Vujacic
Salary: $1,756,951 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 6.2 REB: 1.4 AST: 1.0 PER: 15.66

Outgoing Players: Kurt Thomas

Summary: They save a lot of money and look like even bigger geniuses for their steal of a deal with Phoenix. As those 2 first rounders end up costing only Sasha's small salary.

Hell to da naw from the Lakers. I'm not helping Dallas. the only way I'll send Odom to them is if Howard and Harris or maybe just Nowitzik is coming back.

SF:Ariza
PF:Nowitzki
C:Bynum
SG:Bryant
PG:Fisher

Good call, let's not do a trade that lets us keep Kobe, Bynum, Farmar, Critt, Ariza, etc and allows us the cap space to get the best 08 free agent just because it happens to help Dallas. Seriously can you imagine these depth chart possibilities for next season?

PG- Fisher / Farmar / Critt
SG- Kobe / Critt
SF- Ariza / Walton
PF- Duncan / Turiaf / 1st rounder
C- Bynum / Marc Gasol / Turiaf

Everyone will say Duncan is going nowhere, and I agree it is unlikely, but you can't tell me he wouldn't at least be tempted by that lineup. I mean LA sunshine / Kobe / Bynum / Bench Mob >>>>>>>>>>> San Antonio / Ginobli / Parker / lots of quickly aging vets.

or

more likely replace Duncan with Elton Brand in the above.

or if both of those fall through sign Arenas.

You get the idea, it would leave us a lot of options for next season, and they all would appear to lead to a bunch of championship banners.

As far as the Seattle part, they are trading Thomas for Sasha and the 6.2 million dollars that he saves them. Fans may not get excited about this, but owners sure love it.

Why would the sonics do it? I could see it there was a draft pick being thrown in but as it stands now. no way

Kurt Thomas salary is no problem for the Sonics and the only way they deal a great veteran like him, is if they can get an something they really like in return.

Sasha Vujacic isn't something like this and that's why the Sonics easily decline this one.

because unless Philadelphia or GSW wants Kurt Thomas, there is no other way for them to move him for such a tiny contract.

I believe since all Kurt will do is help the Sonics first round pick be a spot or 2 lower in the upcoming draft that they will move him by the deadline. So do they trade him and a 2nd to LA for Kwame and a first? All Sonics fans seem to love this idea. Look at it deeper though, and they end up moving up 10-15 spots in the draft, but instead of saving 6.2 million, they spend an extra million. I think ownership would gladly give up those 10-15 spots in the draft for 7 million dollars. I just don't see what else the Sonics can do with THomas.

Just so other mavs fans will not swat you down, mavs are not trading dirk. If the mavs were to trade harris and/or howard, they could do better than Odom

Mavs would really look like this
Harris/Terry/Barea
Howard/Stackhouse/Ager
Odom/Hassell
Dirk/Odom/Bass/Vlad
Damp/Mihm/Fazekas

Cut Juwan

I think this interests me, but I still have my main dilemma of Terry and Harris on the lineup. I think lakers hate this big undersell unless they want to hit the FA Market hard. Can Odom play the 3 on Defense? he has been a defending 4 for a long time now.
