UConn Alum Reunion at NJ/Cousins reunite at HOU, w/ MIL/CHA

Post#1 » by HotSpurs21 » Fri Jan 18, 2008 6:57 pm

New Jersey
out: Vince Carter, Sean Williams, Nenad Krstic, Bostjan Nachbar
in: Emeka Okafor, Charlie Villanueva, Desmond Mason, Luther Head, 2008 HOU 1st

They get Okafor who should thrive playing with Kidd. They also reunite former UConn teammates: Okafor, CV, Boone and Marcus Williams. The sentimental effect may cause Okafor to re-sign at a more reasonable price for them. CV's value might have plummeted because of his lack of playing time at MIL, but playing with Kidd will allow him to maximize his talents, and his offensive skills will make him a deadly scorer in NJ. Luther Head give them a shooter off the bench, while Desmond Mason add some wing depth. They also get Houston's 1st and also dump Carter's long contract.

Rotation:
Okafor/Collins/Magloire
CV/Boone
Jefferson/Wright
Mason/Head
Kidd/Williams

Houston
out: Shane Battier, Mike James, Luther Head, Kirk Snyder, 2008 1st, future 1st
in: Vince Carter, Bostjan Nachbar, Othella Harrington, Derek Anderson

They get another scorer to form possibly the greatest trio in the NBA by reuniting the cousins T-Mac and Carter. Former Rocket players Nachbar, Anderson and Harrington come back to add depth off the bench.

Rotation:
Yao/Mutombo/Harrington
Scola/Hayes/Nachbar
T-Mac/Nachbar
Carter/Wells
Alston/Anderson

Milwaukee
out: Charlie Villanueva, Desmond Mason, David Noel
in: Shane Battier, Kirk Snyder

CV doesn't have a future with the team, so they'd better deal him for something of value. This trade addresses their problem at SF with the perfect glue guy in Battier.

Rotation:
Bogut/Voskuhl
Yi/Ruffin
Battier/Simmons
Redd/Snyder
Mo/Bell/Ivey

Charlotte
out: Emeka Okafor, Othella Harrington, Derek Anderson
in: Sean Williams, Nenad Krstic, Mike James, David Noel, future HOU 1st

They need help at the back court, and James can help them at PG position. Williams is a great prospcct for them at C, while Krstic can be their low-post scorer in the future if he can fully recover. Noel comes back to North Carolina to reunite with former UNC teammates Felton and May.

Rotation:
Nazr/Hollins/(Krstic)
Williams/Davidson
Wallace/Noel
JRich/Carroll
Felton/James

switch Bell with Mason and we have a deal. Bell is coming along good now. We need his depth at the 1/2 spots.

Value wise not bad (assuming Nenad comes back with no problems)...but I'm pretty sure Charlotte won't take Sean Williams due to his past.

The way it was put to me: "the organization is leary of bringing in any questionable players...for a team in a small market trying to win fans back that could be deadly".

Houston says **** yes, but I HIGHLY doubt Charlotte does this, he's their franchise player.

sure half man half a season isn't enough. we need to double that

or wait a second,

does that mean 2 x half man half a season = 1 man 1 season?

I think that CHA get the short end of the stick and somehow HOU gets Carter for spare parts. As a Mavs fan I would hate to see this happening. The cousins re-unite except this time with the best C in the league behind them

It is really nice for Houston. I feel like we need to be throwing another pick at Charlotte or something. Although I could definitely see this happening the way it is right now if Okafor doesn't look like he's willing to sign reasonably with Charlotte.

If Houston is willing to throw another pick to Charlotte, even better

Ehh recentely it's been overblown. He's only missed five something games this season and played in all 82 last season, and 79 the season before. He's been extremely durable the past couple of seasons.

the cousins have no heart. why would we want another heartless player? just for the sake of family reunion?

The talent Houston got back from this trade is great. The problem is that it's not what Houston needs. Houston needs leadership, needs heart. Carter has neither.

NJ might do this trade, if they could get a decent replacement for Carter. I'd actually rather have Bell than Mason, but he would not be a "decent replacement". Neither would Snyder. I just don't think we get a fair shake, giving up Carter, Krstic AND Williams, and only getting one starter in return.
