LA/Orl/Phil/Mem: Pau to LA, Iggy to Mem, Miller to Orl

Post#1 » by mhd » Fri Jan 18, 2008 10:39 pm

Trade ID: 4420194

Lakers trade:
1) Kwame
2) Vujajic (Expiring)
3) Crittendon
4) 08 1st
for:
1) Gasol
2) Navarro

Orlando trades:
1) Arroyo (expiring)
2) Dooling (expiring)
3) Garrity (expiring)
4) Battie
for:
1) Andre Miller
2) Stro Swift

Phill trades:
1) Andre Miller
2) Iggy
for:
1) Crittendon
2) Arroyo (expiring)
3) Dooling (expiring)
4) Garrity (expiring)
5) 08 Lakers 1st

Memphis trades:
1) Gasol
2) Swift
3) Navarro
for:
1) Iggy
2) Battie
3) Vujajic (expiring)
4) Kwame (expiring)

NEW LINEUPS:
Lakers:
PG: Fisher/Farmar
SG: Kobe/Navarro
SF: Odom/Walton
PF: Gasol/Turiaf
C: Bynum/Mihm

Magic:
PG: Miller/Nelson
SG: Bogans/Reddick
SF: Lewis/Evans
PF: Swift/Cook
C: Howard/Foyle

76ers:
PG: Crittendon/Arroyo
SG: Lou Williams/Green
SF: Thad Young/Carney
PF: Jason Smith/Evans
C: Dalembert/Randolph

Grizzlies:
PG: Conley/Lowry
SG: Iggy/Miller
SF: Gay/Miller
PF: Kwame/Cardinal
C: Darko/Battie

REASONS:
Lakers:
1) They go for the title sacrificing youth and a draft pick. When Bynum comes back, the Lakers could be the favs. to win it all.

Magic:
1) They get to use their expirings to find some immediate help to fend off the surging Wizards. Miller and Swift would be in the rotation right away. They could challenge Boston and Detroit with this move.

Memphis:
1) Iggy would be an excellent compliment next to Gay and Conley.
2) Gay is confirmed as the best player on the team.
3) They take on Battie's awful contract, but save some serious cash because Kwame expires.

Philly:
1) They get their PG of the future in Crittendon.
2) They tank for best possible draft pick.
3) They get serious cap room this summer because Miller is gone, and they don't have the cap hold to extend Iggy. They can Max Brand.
4) They exchange Miller and Iggy's cap holds for Crittendon's salary since everyone else expires.

Lakers get Gasol way too cheaply.
Orlando gets a fair deal, I assume they would do it.
Philly gets screwed. That's more than equal value for Miller, but adding Iggy on makes it ridiculously bad for them.
Not sure about the Grizz, b/c they would have to resign Iggy.

This is one of the worst trades I've seen that's included Iguodala. It's perilously close to being one of the worst trades I've seen that's included any Sixer. The way Miller's playing, he's worth close to a pick, Critt, and expirings by himself, IMO. What could possibly possess Ed Stefanski to throw in Iguodala, with the possible exception of the spirit of Kevin McHale?

Wow this is bad. I have always wondered if people posting trades took into consideration other teams, lol. I mean, this dude has got to be a Lakers fan. Look at the title. It had all big names except an LA big name, i knew right then this would be a doozy.

Were not giving up an All-Star (Pau) and a Rookie of the Year candidate (Navarro) for a Iggy and a bunch of no-namers.

Kwame, Critt, and a late first is nowhere near enough to land Gasol. Dream on Lakers fans.
