Cleveland Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players:
Andre Miller JR Smith and Steven Hunter
Outgoing Players:
Drew Gooden, Ira Newble, Cedric Simmons, Shannon Brown and a 1st Round Pick

The Cavs get an entirely new starting backcourt, reuniting JR Smith with Andre Miller, who he played his best next to. Varejao steps into the vacant starting PF role, and Hunter becomes the 1st big off the bench.

Denver Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players:
Francisco Garcia, Mikki Moore and Shannon Brown
Outgoing Players:
JR Smith, Steven Hunter and Eduardo Najera

The Nuggets add Garcia to start at the SG spot next to AI. He's had some PG experience under his belt on the Kings, so he could help in the ball handing and decision making department, as well as make open shots and play solid defense. Moore gives them a big who can shoot a little.

Philadelphia Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players:
Ira Newble, Eduardo Najera and a 1st Round Pick via Cleveland
Outgoing Players:
Andre Miller

The Sixers dump salary and pick up a 1st round pick. Adding Najera also gives them the option to move Reggie Evans elsewhere (Orlando? for expirings?). Lou Williams of course slides into the vacant starting PG role.

Sacramento Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players:
Drew Gooden and Cedric Simmons
Outgoing Players:
Mikki Moore and Francisco Garcia

The Kings use Garcia to upgrade their PF position. Drew Gooden could be a good piece for them both now and in the future.

Garcia is far and away more than the difference between Moore and Gooden.

Sacramento laughs at you.

DANG! I looked at the DEN section and said to myself, "somebody else is getting screwed." There's just no way they can get that good of a package for what they send out.

Simmons is undervalued on this board, but he doesn't make up for the sizeable difference between Moore+Garcia and Gooden. Garcia's value alone is almost worth Drew (and I'm a Jayhawk).

Considering Simmons got traded for David Wesley, and hasn't really done much since, I'd say his value is about right on these boards.

Him, Brown and Newble are just fillers to get the deal to work.

And if Garcia alone is ALMOST worth Drew, is Mikki Moore really that big of an add on? I'd think his value is about neutral, slightly more.

Ed Stefanski was on Philly radio today and said that he's gotten calls for Miller and has been offered expirings and a first round pick but that won't come close to getting a deal done.

Based on those words, I'll have to say that the Sixers pass.

Denver passes,

Shannon Brown is a d-leaguer

Moore is not any better then Najera, but is paid really well over the next three years.

And I would rather have JR Smith over Garcia, JR is a better scorer and Passer, turns the ball over less, and the defensive numbers do not go to hell when he steps on the court, like they do with Garcia.

Steven Hunter is not the big man that will replace Gooden. Cavs pass, we're also giving up too much.

Pass for the Sixers.
