The money works.
Philly needs a 20-25 mpg point if it hopes to move Andre Miller. Delonte, a Philly college player, has no real future in Seattle. Even though he's a natural two, 6'4" lefty, he can play point half a game.
Carney, though having underwhelmed in Mo Cheeks' 'snailball' system, has great upside with a good coach. Mo Cheeks ain't a decent coach. Carney was a #17 pick, I believe.
Seattle saves around $1 mil in payroll next year if it makes the deal.
Delonte's 'qualifying offer' for next season is $2.7 mil; Carney is under contract for around $1.7 mil next year, $1.5 mil this year.

How can you say West has no future in Seattle?
The guy is 24 has at least 6 more years in the league and Seattle is a young team. And there is always a spot for a guy who can play D and shoot the three.
Seattle may think about this offer but West hasn't been healthy enough to actually show what he can do on a nightly basis. So until West has run a few more miles in a Sonic uni Seattle declines.
