just spit ballin'.

NEW YORK RECEIVES: Tinsley, Murphy

INDIANA RECEIVES: Banks, Richardson, Rose, 08 1st (ATL via PHX)

PHOENIX RECEIVES: Robinson, Harrison

New York gets a new that is more pass-first than Crawford and a 3pt shooting PF for the cost of an inactive player in rose, qrich's role on the team can be easily replaced by jones/jeffries/murphy and they give up nate robinson but keep lee, balkman and chandler.

marbury / tinsley / collins
crawford / jones
balkman / jeffries / chandler
randolph / lee / murphy
curry / morris / james

Phoenix gets an upgrade on backup PG for Nash and depth at C, without taking on terrible contracts and giving up banks' terrible deal and a pick which they probably wouldn't have kept.

nash / robinson
bell / barbosa / piatkowski / strawberry
hill / diaw / tucker
marion / skinner / marks
stoudemire / harrison

Indiana gives up on the tinsley era and moves banks into the starting PG spot - he isn't a 3pt threat but he is a good defender. they get rose who they can either buy-out or keep to use as an exp. deal over the summer. q-rich will fit better than murphy in our new small-ball. PHX would add the first (which they're not fond of keeping anyway) to sweeten the banks contract.

banks / diener / owens
rush / richardson / graham
dunleavy / daniels
granger / williams / diogu
o'neal / foster / rose

PHX isn't giving up the ATL pick for Nate Robinson, especially when they traded Nate in the first place...

Barbosa is a fine backup PG to Nash, they don't need depth.

I do think they'd like to get rid of Banks deal, but not sure they'll give up another first to do it.

The Suns back court depth isn't the problem. They need a defensive front court player who can successfully play against Duncan, Boozer, Dirk, etc.

What about this:

Phoenix Suns

Incoming Players

Jeff Foster
Salary: $5,500,000 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 5.8 REB: 8.3 AST: 1.5 PER: 15.11

Nate Robinson
Salary: $1,268,160 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 11.3 REB: 2.8 AST: 2.3 PER: 16.76

David Harrison
Salary: $1,734,316 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 4.4 REB: 2.2 AST: 0.4 PER: 8.66

Outgoing Players: Marcus Banks, Leandro Barbosa
Indiana Pacers

Incoming Players

Marcus Banks
Salary: $3,966,207 Years Remaining: 4
PTS: 5.7 REB: 0.9 AST: 1.0 PER: 12.07

Malik Rose
Salary: $7,101,250 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 1.7 REB: 1.9 AST: 0.4 PER: -1.92

Leandro Barbosa
Salary: $5,600,000 Years Remaining: 4
PTS: 17.3 REB: 2.9 AST: 2.9 PER: 17.74

Outgoing Players: Jeff Foster, David Harrison, Jamaal Tinsley
New York Knicks

Incoming Players

Jamaal Tinsley
Salary: $6,300,000 Years Remaining: 4
PTS: 13.4 REB: 4.0 AST: 8.5 PER: 13.73

Outgoing Players: Malik Rose, Nate Robinson

Why for the Suns: They lose Barbosa, but they have plenty of players who can score on their team. They replace him with Nate Robinson, someone who can play in the Suns offense and score, and get a defensive post presence in Foster who will also get them extra shots with his offensive rebounding. They also get another big man presence in Harrison and get rid of Marcus Banks and his contract.

Why for the Knicks: They get rid of Rose's contract and get a pass first point guard. Tinsley and Thomas are friends as it is, Tinsley with his passing ability could be the glue to help get NY playing more like a team. Tinsley also grew up in NY and would love to be there.

Why for the Pacers: We take on two bad contracts but get Barbosa. Banks would also be a better backup PG than the 2 we have. Tinsley has been playing like an All-Star this year, but he has just about worn out his welcome in Indiana.

Just an idea.

No to the 1st trade and no to the 2nd trade for NY.

Guys...stop with the "hey NY sucks so let's try to pretend what we give them don't suck even more" mentality when getting NY involved in trades.

Believe me, everyone knows about Tinsley...his contract, his behavioral problems, his troublemaking ways. NY is the absolute last team that needs him.

And why on earth would NY need another offensive minded PF that can rebound but that cant defend to save his life? Isn't $60 million invested in the former Blazer enough? Why would NY need to sink another $50 million to find his white twin?

And NY is not trading Nate Robinson who, since being added back into the rotation (off the bench) has been averaging 16ppg, 4apg while shooting 47% from the field, 44% from 3PT range and 90% from FT line in 30mpg. Especially when you consider he's the top 3 in revenue from a apparel standpoint, is a huge hit in NY (especially with the kids) and makes about 1/10th of what Tinsley makes.
