Houston Trades
Tracey McGrady, Rafer Alston, Kirk Snyder, Steve Francis, Carl Landry, Steve Novak

Miami Trades
Dequan Cook, Jason Williams, Ricky Davis, Alonzo Mourning, Udonis Haslem, Smush Parker

Why for Houston: They get rid of McGrady for a flier on three guys and a legit PF in Haslem, whose junkyard mentality is good for their lineup. They get a lot of cap room and have a decent chance to make the playoffs.

Williams/James/Parker
Head/Cook
Battier/Davis
Haslem/Scola
Yao/Hayes

Why for Miami: They are not going anywhere quickly, and they have no use in the future for Williams, Davis, and Cook is stuck behind Wade. They get a top talent in McGrady and will be a good fit with Wade.

Alston/Francis
Wade/Snyder
McGrady/Wright
Blount/Novak
O'Neal/Barron

Take your offer of TMac somewhere else because the heat will passed.

There's no point in doing something like this anymore. After this trade, we're going to go 30-8 just to get back to .500? :nonono:

Send us Scola and I'm in. We've got nothing at power forward, otherwise...

Agreed. I'd do it if we got Scola.

All I have to say is, WOW! I agree, Miami has to like the value of this deal (if it were offered), but why would Houston do this? Haslem isn't THAT much better than Hayes/Scola, to necessitate trading T-Mac for spare parts. McGrady is happy in Houston, and Morey loves him; so it isn't like the Rockets HAVE to trade him now, or he'll go on strike or something.

Stinks for HOU.

My thoughts exactly. Scola plays a VERY similar game to Haslem, with a similar skill set, and while Haslem probably gets the nod, I don't think the difference is worth mentioning. Cook is nice, but nothing that warrants Landry and McGrady being in there. At the least, Houston would switch Rafer with James and want Miami's unprotected 08 pick.

No, not raped, but we would need a power forward rather desperately after this.

??? Care to elaborate?

They get Tmac, the rookie in Landry, and a bunch of expirings for spare parts?

TMac's not worth our number one this year. Not where we're picking ;)

Wow this is absolutely horrible for the Rockets. Alston has played better than Williams, Haslem is nice, but Smush Parker and Mourning are of no services and Cook is a similar player to Head, and the difference between McGrady and Davis is pretty noticeable..... Then we add Landry who's looked great in the minutes we've given him and other expirings???

I could understand Miami not doing it considering they are going in a different direction (though McGrady, Wade, Shaq, Top 5 pick doesn't seem TOO bad though injuries are bound to happen) but this is really a HORRIBLE deal for the Rockets..
