What would you give for Brad Miller?

Just curious considering I think the Kings should rebuild and stuff. He has been playing great basketball this season. He's getting about 14/9/3.5 and 1 block per game. He could help a lot of teams needing a big man, like the Nets or Bulls or someone. The only thing is his contract isn't great, but if you're getting 14/9/3.5 and a block it's worth it IMO. His defense has been better this year than the last 2 years, a lot better. So who could use him and what would you guys give for him?

Yea, I dunno how the bench thing would go but I don't imagine he would complain and whine about it. He doesn't have that type of attitude, he's a team player.

his value should be around expiring contracts but i don't think the teams with the type of expirings to get him would.

When Brad had to play behind Webber and Vlade, he was completely fine with it.

The Magic would, and I posted a trade for expirings before and Kings fans wanted a 1st round pick or for us to take Kenny Thomas. I told them to lay off the pipe.

Ya Orlando really is the one perfect spot for Miller to land... so he can start at Center and DHoward can finally move back to PF where he should be. If the Kings are dumping Bibby, Artest and KT for expirings/picks/prospects... then no reason why they cant send Miller to Orlando for Reddick and expirings.

We don't really need Redick though. If we trade Miller I'd atleast like to get a late 1st rounder. I mean honestly, the guy IS playing pretty well right now. To be honest if the Magic got Miller I think the pick would be like 24-30(not quite sure where Orlando is right now though so I could be wrong).

Yeah, he's playing well, but you're asking a team to take on a $34 mil contract that expires in 2010. I think you're asking for Orlando to invest all of its expirings to match that salary, so that's a truckload of savings for SAC if you are getting all expirings back. And of course, there's the financial risk dur to age and injury for any deal that runs that long. He'll turn 32 later this season.

Brad Miller and Kenny Thomas
FOR
JJ Reddick, Tony Battie, Carlos Arroyo, Pat Garrity
That works IMO... Magic get their starting center... Kings dump Kenny Thomas who they HATE and get a young guy and expirings

I want Brad back in Indy but know that the Pacers don't have the rebuilding pieces that the Kings need.
So what about a 3-way with the Nets:
Kings get Jefferson/Krstic/Collins/Murphy/Tinsley/Nets 2008 #1 pick
Nets get JO/Artest
Pacers get Bibby/Miller/Thomas/S. Williams

When I broke this trade down, I really liked this trade.
Orlando is in win-now mode, and since Battie is out with injury, his salary is a big hole in their production. The Magic are paying Battie $17.1 mil, but are only getting two seasons of production, so he effectively costs $8.6 mil/year. That's over-priced.
Kenny Thomas gets paid $26 mil for three years, or $8.7 mil. That's over-priced too, and by a very similar value.
So are Thomas and Battie about equal? Actually, since each team is on a different economic path, the other team's player is more valuable for each.
ORL desperately needs production, now. They have part of their salary cap locked up in a player that produced nothing. Since they value the production of all three years, Kenny Thomas makes more sense. He'd get minutes in Orlando.
SAC, if this is the first move in a rebuilding plan, has no need for production. They aren't on an "average production" valuation, but a "total dollars" valuation. Both Thomas and Battie are three year deals, but Battie is $9 mil cheaper, so Battie makes more sense for them.
Great start for a deal, creating wiggle room for value on both sides. If the rest of the deal can break even, it should be successful. Brad Miller's large buy productive contract for non productive expirings and a prospect? Its a $20 mil savings for SAC, and a production boost for ORL. This again is a win/win for both teams, who have very different goals.
Nice trade WizardsWorld -- a great fit for both teams.

Orlando for Reddick + expirings seems like the most realistic deal out there.

You're delusional.
Expiring contracts have zero value towards CAPABLE players unless they're used as salary filler in blockbuster deals. Expirings can land a team's 'dead weight' a la Nazr Mohammed and the Pistons(who has had a renaissance of sorts in Charlotte). But expirings can not and will not land a capable basketball player...especially a center who's putting up borderline all-star caliber numbers. (Brad's years as an all-star were 15/10/5 on 50/80 shooting; he's doing 14/9/4 on 50/80 shooting).
Brad has value to the right teams. Celtics, Nets, Lakers, Spurs, Pistons would and could use Brad Miller along with a few others.

Problem is the Kings have absolutely no use whatsoever for Reddick--they're pretty much already set at the 2/3 for the future w/ Martin, Salmons, & Garcia. They even have Douby who can spend some time at the 2 from time to time.
Miller is worth more than expiring contracts; that's for sure.

Battie = Kenny Thomas; what the hell is the point of the Kings taking on a contract that's just as long and just about as equally bad?
Sure, shrink wanted to say "the Kings would love to save that $9mil". Uh, wrong. If the team wanted to save money then they never would have signed Mikki Moore, for starters. The TEAM doesn't benefit 1 single bit from saving a few mil over 3 years and to think that that is what's going to be the biggest plus for the Kings doing this deal is just delusional.
Miller for Garrity, Dooling, Foyle, & a 1st rounder works just fine.

how many of those teams you listed even have the means to get him? not the celtics. not the spurs. not the pistons. the nets would never trade one of their big 3 for miller and the lakers most def. wouldn't trade for miller when they have odom/bynum in the frontcourt.

IMO Brad doesnt have to be moved. Yeah we would like to have cap space coming up, but the way he is playing I feel there is no reason to move him unless we get an offer that blows us away. So while some feel that exp should be enough, if we are going to move him I either want a 1st round pick this upcoming year or move K9.

why would we want reddick? to have even more of a log jam at SG/SF?
