Kings/Lakers

Kings trade:
Ron Artest
Kenny Thomas
Lakers trade:
Jordan Farmar
Kwame Brown
Chris Mihm
2008 1st round pick
Kings lineup-
Bibby/Udrih/Farmar
Martin/Douby/Jones
Salmons/Garcia
Moore/Williams/Brown
Miller/Hawes/Mihm
Why for SAC- Move Artest w/ K Thomas for an expiring, a nice backup PG in Farmar and late 1st rounder. Open up things for Salmons and Garcia again. Kings then look to move Bibby but dont know if the Kings are looking to help the Lakers get this good.
Lakers lineup-
Fisher/Crittenton
Kobe/Vujacic
Artest/Walton/Ariza
Odom/Radmanovic/Thomas
Bynum/Turiaf/Mbenga?
Why for LAL- Lakers go for the championship this year. Boston has been showing they are human lately, San Antonio's not as good as they have been in the past, Mavs/Suns/Pistons look very mediocre. Kobe+Artest+Odom+Bynum with decent role players would be the favorites IMO.

If your the Lakers you take it but you do have to think about it (Is Artest really worth it if he may be attainable after this season i believe with a opt-out) and if your the kings i dont know ... ( waits for a kings fan)

I wouldn't do this for the Lakers.
#1: Farmar is an important spark plug off the bench, and Fisher can't really handle anymore than 25-30, so we'd need Critt to play 20 mpg, which i don't really think he's ready for.
#2: Leaves us with Turiaf as our starting Center for the next couple of months.. Not gonna work.
Kings fans would say 'hell no' anyway.

1. Not necessarily 20 mins but he'd play.I dont think it would be a problem though with the talent they'd have - both Sasha and Critt would both see some time there, and I can see the Lakers going big at times as Phil Jackson likes to, with Walton or Ariza coming in at SF with both Odom and Artest being capable of playing some point forward. Kobe can play some minutes there also.
2. Yeah but by the time Bynum comes back they'll still be in the playoffs and thats all that really matters. Remember how much they're gaining with Artest - a lockdown defender, an 18-20 pt scorer and a leader.Plus Bynum will have enough time to get back to playing at the level before he got injured and they would all have time to mesh as a team both before the playoffs started.
As far as Kings fans saying no some might but I think its a solid deal with dumping Kenny Thomas, a decent prospect in Farmar and the 1st with Petrie's drafting ability.

Yeah, this thread is starting off maturely, but someone's going to mention the B-word, and its going to end in name-calling and histrionics, just like all LAL-SAC threads.

take out Farmar...(you can have one of Crit or the pick).
So...
Kwame/Mihm/Crit or pick for KT/Artest
which the kings will laugh at...but LA aren't offering anything more.
Kings will not give the Lakers the championship for that cheap

Could be a nice little fallback deal though.

although its a really good trade two probems
1.unless artest promis's to stay in l.a l.a will not trade farmar for a rental,
2.Im all for Turiaf starting but hed foul out oin 20 minutes, which would leave us with no one ubnless we sing DJ Mbenga to play the other 28 minutes

Artest wants to contend for a ring, and if he got traded to LA, he'd be able to do that, so he'd have reason to resign there
that being said, I see the deal as this that Sacramento might consider
Artest & KT
for
Brown, Critt & 1st (which will likely be in bottom 3rd of the round) & filler as needed (not Vlad Rad)

Change Farmar with Critt and I would like this deal.
Artest/KT
for
Brown/Mihm/Critt/1st
Then do an Orlando expirings/1st for Miller
And
Sac Out: Bibby
Sac In: Newble, Magloire, Collins, 1st
Cle Out: Gooden, Newble, Pavlovic
Cle In: Bibby
NJ Out: Magloire, Collins, 1st
NJ In: Gooden, Pavlovic
Sacto 08-09
1) Udrih (resigned at 4mil), Douby
2) Martin, Jones (min)
3) Salmons/Garcia
4) SAR, Williams
5) Hawes, Collins
Total team salary approx: 38-39 million
Would only have SAR as long term deal as a veteran (two years, 12.8 million)
3 2008 first round picks (at the moment they are #9, #15, #24), use them to move up in the draft as many positions as possible (don't know what that could net us).
If OJ Mayo was a possibility select him and then try and nab Josh Smith, Okafor or Brand from free agency.
Wow did I get off track, I can only dream tho can't I

Hate to wake you, but Sasha can't be traded until after the season, but then Newble can't be traded.

Thanks for waking me
It says on the trade checker that Pavlovic can be traded after February 1, 2008.
