Nets get:
Zach Randolph
Ricky Davis
Knicks get:
Vince Carter
Jamaal Magloire
Heat get:
Fred Jones
Wilson Chandler
WHY IT COULD WORK FOR THE NETS:
They finally get a lowpost scorer in Randolph to compliment their perimeter talent. However, in this deal, they acquire a fine replacement 2G in Davis for the departed Carter. This deal would make New Jersey a serious threat for the Eastern title. Very few teams could match up against their inside-outside combination.
NETS LINE-UP:
PG-Kidd/Armstrong/Williams
SG-Davis/Wright
SF-Jefferson/Nachbar
PF-Randolph/Kristic/Boone
C-Williams/Collins/Allen
WHY IT COULD WORK FOR THE KNICKS:
It's obvious the Randolph-Curry combo isn't working and they could use some star power to reinvigorate the fan base. Carter would provide that. He may not be the Vinsanity of old, but he's still one heck of a 2G. With Crawford now taking the reigns at PG, they could use an athletic wingman like Carter on the perimeter.
KNICKS LINE-UP:
PG-Crawford/Robinson/Collins
SG-Carter/Richardson
SF-Balkman/Jefferies
PF-Lee/Rose
C-Curry/Magloire/Morris
WHY IT COULD WORK FOR THE HEAT:
This is a rebuilding move for Miami. They maintain their cap flexibility while acquiring a young prospect to groom in Wilson Chandler. He has good upside and could turn into a productive SF.
HEAT LINE-UP:
PG-Williams/Quinn
SG-Wade/Cook/Jones
SF-Wright/Chandler
PF-Haslem/Blount/Johnson
C-O'Neal/Barron
