Why?

Nets need a post presence and a solid defender and with the current rumor it looks like Thorn wants to gamble on JO. In this trade they keep Marcus Williams.

Bobcats welcome home VC who gets a chance to play for MJ, and will lead Charlotte to their first playoffs. Diener is a nice backup PG while Magloire and Harrison bolster their frontcourt.

Blazers get rid of Miles and in return get their future SF in Morrison. Diogu replaces Frye and is more of a postup PF, something Portland lacks.

Pacers get some nice young players to build on for the future. JRich gets reunited with his old GSW buddies. I think VC won't be happy playing in Indy so with this trade the Pacers get solid players instead of a superstar.

does Portland want Tinsley and his entourage-antics? I see them doing the deal because of Diogu though.

Charlotte gets hosed at the expense of getting Carter who actually lives in Florida, not NC just cuz he went to college there, haha

CHA pays a high price for a former Tarheel, and NJ would rather cut Indy out of this deal and negotiate for Okafor.

Bobcats would never do this.

.

Okafor and Richardson are the ones to lead the Bobcats to our 1st playoffs - not a burn out like Carter.

Bobcats pass in a BIG way.

I'm afraid Portland is going to poo-poo this kind of idea simply because Tinsley is exactly the type of player Portland is trying to avoid/get rid of.

Yeah, I was expecting Orlando in this somehow...then saw we were getting VC.

Jordan and VC don't really get along. Since this is the 2nd thread on the board sending him our way that probably needs to be understood.

That being said this wouldn't happen with only JSwish...adding Mek in makes it truly laughable.

Seriously, guys going to school somewhere is not their "home." I mean, if that was the case, how do the Bobcats not have the greatest NBA franchise in history.

In regards to the trade, JO for Maglorie and VC is on the table for Indy and New Jersey, so why add two other teams and severely take away talent from Charlotte.

Terrific for Port...sucks for the Bobs who just get older and expensive while losing their key big. Nice for NJ and pretty decent for Indy but no way Char gives Okafor and tosses in J Rich and Morrison for a 30 + aged G.

Brutal for Charlotte. If the Bobcats were even remotely interested in dealing Okafor/Richardson for VC + fillers, the Nets would immediately cut IND and POR out of the deal.

Of all the players in this deal, Okafor and Richardson are easily the two most desirable considering age, talent, potential and contract. Even considering both of their injury histories, the only guys here better are Jack, Frye and Diener. This is just horrible for Charlotte.

Just a note - Okafor is in his contract year (considering this immediate trade not for the offseason).

Hell no from Bobcats

On paper it's a good trade for Portland, but they would never do it. Tinsley is the epitome of the type of player Portland wants nothing to do with.

I think we will see/hear that Portland turns down a lot of favorable "on paper" offers because of character and just the type of heart the player has.

Simple answer. No, we don't.

No way the Blazers accept this deal. Tinsley is a deal breaker. He makes Miles look like a choir boy in comparison.

I don't even think with O'neal being injured at this point can fetch Okafor straight up let along adding J-Rich who has played fantastic in the past couple weeks. Horrible deal for the Bobcats.

it looks like a fairly bad trade for Charlotte.

and as others have said, Tinsley to portland is a non-starter. Not only that, with outlaw, webster , and jones already on the roster, portland has no use for Morrison...even if he was healthy.
