NY/LA- Zach to Lakers

Zach Randolph
for
Kwame Brown, Sasha Vujacic, 2008 first (top 10 protected), LA 08 second

Knicks would then waive Vujacic, who can then be claimed on waivers by LA (If they can do that).

LA(healthy):
Bynum/Turiaf/Mihm
Zach/Walton
Odom/Ariza/Vlad
Kobe/Vujacic/Javaris
Fisher/Farmer

Lakers get a legit 20-10 presence to help Kobe with all the injuries LA have. Zach would thrive in a role where he can be the 2nd option after Kobe. But even when Bynum comes back, Zach can play along side him as Bynum's shotblocking can help cover Zach on the defensive end. LA become legit contenders.

Knicks get an expiring, a late first and a late second.

Decent enough deal. I'd like to think LA would definitely do it, but who knows.

Would hope NY could get a bit more, but I think they'd still be happy with the fact that they traded away Francis' contract w/ out adding any crap. If the Knicks could re-sign Kwame for the MLE, this trade could look very positive for them. Kwame's a decent enough defender, so could look great splitting time with Lee and playing alongside scorer Curry

Problem with this deal, despite all the differences in talent level, is that LA would be left with no center after this deal while Bynum and Mihm heal.

Yeah to be honest, I say Lakers turn it down, Zach's a curse.

From a casual observer of the Lakers, the only reasons I could think of why they would not want Zach is because of the $60 mil that he is owed and concerns about whether he's a team player or not.

Other then that ( which are legit reasons ).....I don't think that paying an Expiring Contract, filler and a likely mid-20s 1st round pick is that much for a legit 17/10 PF.

The only way that I can think of that would be fair would be to take out Sasha and add in VladRad just to make the $$$ owed more balenced.

Zach Randolph is one of the last players you'd want to have in the Triangle.

I really don't know how else to put it.
