Knicks Trade: Curry, Crawford, Jeffries
Receive: Rashard, Mobley
Lee/Morris/James
Randolph/Rose/Ariza
Lewis/Ariza/Chandler
Mobley/Q-Rich/Fred Jones
Collins/Nate
The Knicks ditch the underachieving Curry and Jeffries for Rashard. The price is swapping Crawford for Mobley.
Magic Trade: Rashard, Arroyo, Dooling, Garrity
Receive: Curry, Cassell, Crawford, Jeffries
Curry/Foyle
Dwight/Jeffries
Hedo/Ruben Patterson??
Crawford/Bogans/Reddick
Cassell/Nelson
Hedo has shown he's a player this year, so the Magic fill out the roster to give Dwight the help he needs.
Clippers Trade: Cassell, Mobley
Receive: Dooling, Arroyo, Garrity
This is a far better option than buying out Cassell, they ditch Mobley's salary.

Because Hedo has stepped up big time this year and because the Magic overpaid Rashard by more than $40 mil.

Rashard may not be worth the max but hedo looks much better when people like rashard are on the court taking pressure off of him.

No thank you. I think Lewis has turned out to be a great fit for Orlando but I think he was horribly overpaid and have no interest in having such a limited player with such an expensive contract. He's not a rebounder and he can't defend. The Knicks can find a good shooter at a fraction of the cost.

If anything, the Magic should use Turkoglu's success to sell high on him. They're not going to trade Lewis less than half a season after signing him (and watching him perform pretty well).

No thanks. No guarantee that once in NY Rashard doesn't become a needy $120 million guy. And NY really doesn't need another offensive player at a position that they have a lot of thickness at. They need defense, they need shotblocking, they need someone that can run the offense. They don't get it here and in fact lose their only starting caliber PG at this point (Crawford).

You all make valid points, one thing I won't agree on is JC being a PG. He has proved in the past that he can not run a team and I doubt thats going to change.

Well until Isiah decides to give Mardy Collins a real shot Jamal Crawford remains the closest thing to a point guard we have. It just pisses me off that our young guys (Collins, Chandler, Balkman) aren't getting the minutes they need in order to develop into good players because Isiah is worried more about his job than their future.

As a Magic fan this made me throw up in my mouth a little. I don't know what's worse, the idea that someone thought Orlando would do this, or the idea that someone thinks the Knicks would not.

I don't disagree, but for the short term it appears that Crawford and Nate Robinson are sufficient enough. If NY can't draft a PG in this upcoming draft (and with them playing well of late it's looking less likely that that'll be the case) then Crawford is going to be even more important. If Rose or Bayless are gone then NY will probably be forced to go with BPA which is likely going to be something along the lines of Donte Greene, Brook Lopez or Nicolas Batum which would necessitate that they have Crawford around.

The Magic without Dwight Howard would be just as bad as the Knicks. So considering the Knicks wouldn't be getting Dwight Howard, why would the Knicks be not being interested surprise you? And obviously Rashard Lewis has shown that he can lead his team to something without Dwight Howard?

The Magic without Howard are only as bad as the Knicks because all our eggs are in his basket and we don't have the depth. The Magic minus Dwight with a decent substitute is still a lot better than the Knicks.
This trade would finally give the Knicks a real player to build around, and somehow you get him for next to nothing. And in typical Knicks fashion you turn it down. Keep Crawford and Curry...please.

The problem isn't disagreeing with you on the lack of a "real player" to build around. The problem is with believing that Rashard Lewis is that "real player". He's done absolutely nothing to show that he is anything more than a glorified jump shooter who can't lead his team to anything without having a stud like Howard in the lineup with him. Rashard Lewis is not the player that you are making him out to be or the Magic would be elite right now with 2 franchise players (in the same range as Boston, Detroit, San Antonio) which they are not. Dwight Howard IS WITHOUT A DOUBT a franchise player. Rashard Lewis is NOT. Ask around. Take a poll. Ask how many people believe that Rashard Lewis is a franchise type player? Dude...here's a hint. If he was, people wouldn't be laughing at the size of the contract the Magic gave him.

Build around who??? Rashard Lewis? Just because Orlando was dumb enough to pay him like a franchise player it doesn't mean he is a franchise player. The guy is a role player paid as if he was the next Garnett.
Rashard Lewis is an offensively talented player who doesn't rebound nor defend well and is horribly overpaid. Yet, since he isn't a Knick he is seen as a valuable player.

Pretty much. Seems like a common theme here. Only Knick players are bad...look at their records and it's proof. Of course then when you point to other players that are (or were as is the case with Lewis) on just as bad a team...there's always an excuse.
The Knicks need a franchise player. I don't think you'll find many Knick fans that don't agree with that. Problem is to believe that Rashard Lewis in any way qualifies is what is really funny.
