I fail to see what kind of value Pacer fans expect for Jermaine O'Neal?....

If I'm management I'm trying to find ways to get rid of his salary and save fifty million any way possible.

if we trade oneal its to get quality young players back, maybe picks, and some salary relief, but we arent trying to dump him. i wouldnt trade foster for any of the players we get back. the picks would be nice, but the lakers would be mid to late 20s more than likely and id assume the bulls would be lotto protected.

also, i would understand if the lakers wanted wallace, but bynum would not become a third string center, he would still be starting.

You yourselves may not be but I guarantee your management is. If any team offered enough expirings tommorow I get the feeling the upper management would bite on it easily.

As I've said a number of times 50m is a huge deal to any organization. You may think oh ok we're not going to have cap space, but money isn't endless regardless.

As a Bulls fan I'm not crazy about the idea of JO. Plus I don't see the Bulls being able to absorb the salary in such a deal. We'd be better off buying out Wallace and using the other pieces in deals where they weren't combined with negative trade value (Wallace).

Absolutely. That's why LA is looking to give up Kobe for expirings, right?

I mean, if $50 million is a lot for any owner, then wouldn't it be a lot for Jerry Buss? He's 'any' owner....

I like how the Lakers only give up Kwame'e Expiring Contract, their 1st round draft pick, Ariza and a whole bunch of useless filler to get the majority of the best players in the deal.

Take out players like Joe Smith, Jeff Foster ( both players that the Bulls nor the Pacers want to give up ) and VladRad ( a player that no one wants ) and make it more simplier.

im not trying to say that management isnt looking to save money, if they can then thats great, but its obvious we arent looking to dump oneals salary. we need some semblance of young talent or good draft picks back. if we were simply looking to cut salary, im sure the lakers would have parted with kwame and odom for oneal.
